Even if it's true that they were plain vanilla in that preseason game and they were going to throw a whole bunch of stuff Leinert's way to confuse the hell out of him, there's no reason to talk about it before the game. NFL talent is so similar, that any team can step up and win with proper motivation (and coaching). I'm not a fan of Lovie's post-game comments that the Bears are a "team of destiny". Team of Destiny, huh? I still think Arizona's comeback against the Viqueens on week 17 three seasons ago was the biggest comeback that I have ever seen. It pushed the Packers into the playoffs and I'll never forget that "Team of Destiny" identity that was established with us that year. It didn't really work out for us, seeing we lost in the divisional round. Arizona is a bad team. Leinart looked great out there, but the Bears defense stepped up when they wanted to and they got the job done by forcing two huge turnovers and returning them for TD's. Then Arizona had the stupidest decision in the world to kick it to Hester. Grossman already had 6 turnovers and looked pathetic out there. So why would you kick the ball to a guy that the Bears drafted, solely on his ability to return kicks and punts? Then of course Neil Rackers decides that he's from the University of Illinois and decides to suck just like everything from U of I the past week. Yeah as you can tell, I'm a little upset. Anytime you have a chance of winning money on a Monday night game and you lose it like THAT really sucks. But congrats on the win :wink:

Holy crap hahahahaha. I'm jealous now that I didn't go to a bar now. Even though its Rams and Chiefs country down here, there's plenty of Bears fans and I'm sure they were going nuts at the bars. It's official, I'm wearing my Urlacher jersey on campus tomorrow now. It was pandemonium down here after the game...not only the yelling on the floor and the jumping up and down, but after the game, at least 150-200 students went outside the dorms and started chanting "6 and 0" and "We're going to the Super Bowl." Pissed me off pretty good :x

That he is. I'm sure ESPN execs are happy with him basically telling everybody to leave and implying to turn the TV's off because the Cards got a first down. He was saying that the Cardinals should leave on a high note. I know, but the point still remains. ESPN could do a lot to build up this game, but they're blowing it IMO.

Why do you think that? I don't think his curve is as sharp as a few years back. Mediocre fastball. I wouldn't mind him on the Cubs, but I would perfer Daisuke or Schmidt first. Zito's control isn't the best either. He had close to 100 walks on the season. I still like Zito, and I would take any of those three with no real preference towards either of them.

Now you guys know how I felt this week. Even though the Packers suck, it does suck not being able to watch them for a week during the NFL season. Definitely one of the longest weeks of the year. Pack take on Miami next week, a somewhat winnable game. Just plz don't let Joey Harrington look like Dan Marino, kthx.

Hahahaha, Madden just said the Eagles were the best team in the NFC when talking about the Saints-Eagles game today. I think he's forgetting about a team he just broadcasted a couple of weeks ago.

Thomas had a game-tying shot with 5 seconds left that forced the OT. He finished with 13 points and 8 boards. Andre Barrett then hit a couple of big shots in OT to give the Bulls the win. Supposedly Barrett is looking pretty good over the course of the first two games. Small sample size, but I've heard he can make the team in the role that Pargo has been used in over the last two years. Reading responses from the Bulls board that I'm on, Thabo again looked a little tentative. But his stat line sounds pretty solid: 10 points, 5 boards, 6 assists.

I seriously wouldn't worry too much about Oakland (sorry soccer).

Nothing better for NIU than to face Temple after a craptacular performance against WMU yesterday. If Wolfe played the whole game, he probably could get 400 yards against Temple. Who knows, he may get to play the whole game as long as Horvath is throwing INT's left and right like he did yesterday. SIU with a big game against Western Kentucky on Saturday night. A win against a solid top 25 team would be nice and would definitely ease the pain of the loss against Illinois State. I think we should finish the season 9-2, definitely giving us a berth to the I-AA playoffs.

I'm also 6-2, but my losses are the Bengals and the Redskins games.

Wow, the clock in the Bengals-Bucs game didn't start for about 3 seconds on that last play. Not like it really matters though seeing there's only 6 seconds left and there's no timeouts left.

Lofa Tatupu picks off a Marc Bulger pass, his first INT of the season. Seattle is in definite FG range, which would make it a 9 point lead. Pretty safe to say that this game is done.

We were destroyed in every facet of the game, yet we still only lost by one goal. 22 total shots, 28 faceoffs won/45 lost, 0/6 on the powerplay, and the penelty kill was 25% killing the penalty. Looking at those stats, you would've thought the Hawks lost by 4 or 5 goals. There's no doubt in my mind that we should be 4-0 this year. But I have a bad feeling we're going to be consistantly inconsistant the whole season. btw, Martin Havlat is really really really good.

Well we did run for 260 yards against you guys. Hardy couldn't have stopped that. But I do agree that the game would have had a different feel if Hardy played. He is basically the heart and soul of the IU offense.

I SO totally called that on AIM to my friend. In the top of the 9th, I said "don't worry the Tigers will win it in the bottom half with a walkoff." Sure enough, Magglio proved me right.

SIU loses to Illinois State 37-10 :( Last year when SIU was ranked #1 in I-AA, they beat us at C'Dale 61-35. Now this year they run away and beat us by 27. We were leading 10-7, but they scored 30 unanswered. The turning point of the game was following an ISU score that made it 14-10 with 1:30 left in the first half. Nick Hill (SIU's QB) threw a pass to Arkee Whitlock (SIU's RB). Whitlock was well covered on the play and the throw was a bit behind Whitlock, giving the defender the INT. SIU's defense held them to 3, but no doubt that gave them confidence for the 2nd half. We'll probably drop to around 10th in the I-AA poll...
