  1. Prior has only missed significant time once because of a predictable injury. I think if he stays away from Marcus Giles and moves out of the way of line drives, he's pretty reliable.
  2. Willing to give up Vlad for a big time 1B bat.
  3. I just hope Hendry doesn't see that success and try to build around Scott Podsednik and Jermaine Dye like players.
  4. Great effort yesterday by my Hoosiers. Good comeback, down 3 middle of the 4th. But not enough gas in the tank. IU is 1 year away from a bowl game. Hoeppner is creating a QB haven. With the success Rothlisberger is having in the NFL, and the success of the passing game this season, the recruiting should get a boost especially on the offensive side. Oh and by the way, James Hardy is the best 2-sport athlete in the nation!
  5. That team would be handle any regression from Lee and not skip a beat. I think it would be a top 5 team offensively, have a top 5 bullpen, and a top 5 rotation. I'd still rather see another SP given the odds of an injury for Wood & the step taken back by Prior as well as the declining Maddux. Me too. But I won't complain about that offseason by the Cubs.
  6. That team would be a Kerry Wood 25 start season away from being neck and neck with the Cards for best team in the NL.
  7. BTW, Strawberry's swing was freakish. Amazing he ever hit a baseball.
  8. The same way guys like Piazza and Grace went really low. Scouting is an inexact science. Some would say it is not a science at all but an art. There was a good article about Pujols in last week's ESPN the magizine. He was a little pudgy comming out of junior college and I think he had a bad senior year. The article made it seem like he is an even better person than a ball player. It is hard not to like the guy. In all of sports the worst I've ever seen is Dan Marino going in the fifth or six round. Marino went in the first round. It was just late in the first round. My memory was pretty bad there. I think he was like the fourth or fifth quarterback choosen that year. But there were a lot of good QBs in the draft, if my memory is still not bad Yeah, ahead of him were Elway, Kelly, Todd Blackledge, Tony Eason, Ken O'Brien. My bias thinks Marino is the best of the group, but you can argue for Elway and possibly Kelly. But the others were supposed as good and had decent careers.....sort of.
  9. I just realized in this thread how bad the word "click" looks if you just scan over it real fast.
  10. Who are your QBs playing? I would start Bledsoe or Eli (Hasselbeck doesn't get TD with Alexander there). I would play Dillon, Holmes, and Bettis. Parker is not gonna get that many carries now that the bus is back. And Bettis is gonna get all the TDs close for Pitt. Bench Coles. Jets suck. That's what's interesting. Bledsoe is playing against the Giants and Manning of course is playing against the Cowboys. The Giants have one of the worst pass defenses in the league, so that bodes well for Bledsoe. There numbers over the season have been very similar. Start Bledsoe. The Giants have lost their #1 CB for the season also.
  11. I think he gets the Yankees job before the Cubs job. Maybe as soon as 2007.
  12. ????? Yeah, that's a fairly odd statement.

  14. They're not Cubs, so they should be ok.
  15. Trade Wood to me.
  16. Ditto. I would feel nervous in having him be our starting left fielder on opening day, but there should be an expectation that it is his job to win. Let me point out that I did like Dubois. I don't want people going back in the archives and showing my Dubois support posts. I did want Dubois starting, but it took me a while to come around on him as UK would attest.
  17. I feel more confident in Murton than I did in Dubois. Hopefully, the results prove me right.
  18. Hardly. Consider the contracts. Compare runs produced by ARod and Ramirez and runs prevented by Wood. I'm not saying there isn't matter to it but to say its a steal is hyperbole. I would be ok with Murton and Burnitz at the OF corners if ARod was at SS and Ramirez at 3b. Wouldn't be a steal, but I'd do that deal.
  19. OH YEAH! IT'S ME BITCHES!
  20. Gotta score on this drive. 20 yards to FG range. A TD probably puts the game out of reach with this D.
  21. Oh yeah! Really wish the Bears would have drafted another position in the 1st round now. Benson shouldn't see the field with TJ running like this.
  22. LOL. It was already back about 25 from the Bears/Redskins game in Week 1.
