  1. My top 5 next year. Oklahoma, USC, Ohio St, Florida, Texas.
  2. Yay! Conference season starts tonight. I'd like nothing more than to beat Iowa (who I despise!) by 25 points. Road wins in the Big Ten are tough to come by, but despite going 2-6 on the road last year, I'd like to think IU can beat all the non-tourney teams in their building ala Ohio St. and Wisconsin last year. Win out at home. Beat the teams they should on the road, and should coast thru the conference and at worst get a 3 seed.
  3. One year does not a regression make. Carlos Zambrano is still one of the top 10 pitchers in baseball. He's 26, and he showed he can still pitch with the league's elite in June, July and down the stretch in September.
  4. Wow. What a dreadful 1/2 of football. Oklahoma St. looks like the best team in the nation against IU.
  5. Well, he split his time between AA and AAA last year and hit a combined .325, 14 HRs, 40 doubles, slugged .505, and was selected Dodgers' Minor League Player of the Year. Sure sounds like he has the potential to be a very good major league SS. As for Crede being garbage, the Dodgers are rumored to be thinking about Rolen (expensive, injured garbage). Also, getting anything out of Crede would be worth ditching Pierre (plus $15 million) and the other $21.5 million owed to him. a sub 850 OPS in Vegas is pathetic. I wasn't looking at Hu to replace ARod, but more for the old-fashioned middle infielder who can hit for average, run, and field his position. We'll leave the slugging to Soriano, DLee, and ARam. Why settle for that when you can power everywhere? Of the Dodgers SS, I'd much rather have Furcal, even with his contract.
  6. Don't need to tell me about Porter. I watched him play us this year. Shutdown. Should be a good match up if hes on Bowman. Only problem there is Bowman's about 6'4", Porter is 5'9". I don't think TP has faced a WR that big this year, so it will be interesting to see how he does. Hopefully he puts on a show.
  7. Unless Minnesota surprises, we're only getting 4. Wow. Didn't realize how many losses Purdue had already. Still, I think 19-20 wins can get a team in out of the Big Ten, provided at least 2 of the conference wins are IU, MSU, Wisc, or Ohio St....and 1 of those probably has to be on the road.
  8. Wise move would be to keep DeAngelo Williams in a similar, but expanded, role. He's a little dude, and I don't think he could carry the ball 300 times. I'd draft a RB on Day 1 if I were Carolina.
  9. Purdue has a nice coach in place. They are gonna be back to a basketball powerhouse very shortly. Big Ten probably has the best coaching top to bottom. Unfortunately, they may have the worst recruiting of the major conferences. I'll go out on a limb and say Purdue will be a tourney team out of the conference, along with IU, MSU, UW and O$U.
  10. I'm pretty hype about tonight's game. First IU bowl game since 1993. Granted it's on NFL network and a lot of people don't get it, but I'd love to see IU light up the scoreboard tonight. I don't believe I've ever lost my voice watching an IU football game, but I most likely will tonight. FYI, for anyone watching, Tracy Porter is the most underrated CB in college football. He's just below Malcolm Jenkins in the Big Ten. 6'7" WR, James Hardy gives IU another top 50 pick in the upcoming draft.
  11. That's excellent.
  12. Yeah hes got a fantastic arm, doesnt know what to do with it. Doesnt put any air under them either, they are cannons. Morelli has got to be the dumbest QB I've ever seen. Great arm, size, decent footwork and release. But he hasn't improved a lick in 4 years. He has no idea what he is doing on the football field.
  13. UK is like Notre Dame to me. The sport is better when they have good teams. That makes it so much sweeter when they get beat.
  14. Tennessee is one of my preseason Final Four teams. For the record, I picked Tenn, UCLA, Memphis and Wash St., with UCLA winning it all.
  15. Excellent sequence by Michael Flowers. Texas played soft on the pick and he rose up and nailed the 3 to take the lead. With just under 3 seconds left, he steals the ball and on his way out of bounds, throws the ball as high in the air as he could, allowing the time to run out with the ball in air over the stands.
  16. Wisconsin and Texas in a good one. If UW can pull of this one in Austin, you can punch their dance ticket.
  17. Somebody tell the Astros they need pitching. Then again, don't.
  18. It's not like Prior has the loyalty to the Cubs. They didn't really scout him and coach him thru the minors. He was a consensus #1 pick that fell into the Cubs lap. He was pretty much major league ready when he was drafted, and started few games in the minors. Very different situation from say, Kerry Wood, who they drafted at a young age and w/ raw talent. Also, different from Zambrano who they scouted heavily and signed at 17 and gave him several years in the minors.
  19. 7-1 buddy. You can't touch me. Yeah, that's one of life's big mysteries. I can't beat you to save my life.
  20. If he can pitch, Petco is tailored perfectly to Prior. He could have a really good season there.
  21. I could still beat you up. that still doesn't change the fact that you'll die before me. Depends on how bad I beat you up!
  22. I could still beat you up.
  23. Ironically (or not), I have Terrell Owens in all my leagues.
  24. :-({|= Agreed. this is not cool.
  25. This season, I was in 5 head-to-head leagues and 1 rotisserie type league, which was salary cap based. One of the head-to-heads was a salary cap league also, thrown together at the last minute. Of my other 4 head-to-head leagues, I have already won two. And am in the championship of another (I was the regular season champ). Both leagues I won were money leagues, netting me about $500 in winnings. The one league I lost is a keeper league, which I won the inargural championship 2 years ago. So, the question is....am I a fantasy football guru or what?!
