  1. Well, on the bright side, the Cubs get a chance at redemption against the heart of the lineup next inning!
  2. So, use Marmol with a 3-run lead for 2 innings, but don't throw him in a 1-run game in a pressure situation? Cubs will still win this game.
  3. Hopefully, the Cubs are up by more than 1 by that point. Hopefully the Cubs are up by that point.
  4. Why Wuertz? I woulda stuck with Hill there, but if I went to the pen it would have been for Hart or Lieber.
  5. Big inning for Rich. Barmes, Helton, Holliday, with Atkins and Hawpe on deck and in the hole.
  6. I completely agree with what he is saying, but if he's complaining about people making a decision in 200ABs, he's making a decision on Pie's usage in 20 games. If Pie continue to get 1 start per week by this time next month, then there is a problem. For once, I tend to side with Cubs coaching/management, because since Felix has been worked closely with, he's 3-6, with a HR.
  7. That's only cool if they asked about Rich Hill's personal life.
  8. I have it on DVR, haven't watched it though. I can make bootleg DVDs of it and sell them for $13.95 plus shipping and handling each.
  9. Exactly. This would normally be an impossible matchup for the Cubs. However, if the Cubs continue to be patient, they can win this game. Morales has 11 walks in 15 innings. Still gonna be a tough matchup. Hill has not done well at Coors. And doesn't figure to shutdown the Rockies tonight.
  10. Yeah, who the hell screwed that up? :this:
  11. Texans did it with Mario Williams two years ago. Carson Palmer was signed before the draft too.
  12. Enjoy him getting seriously overmatched by bigger receivers. That's what they said about Ronde. James Hardy REC 14 YDS 142 TD 2 LG 26 Thomas, Devin REC 7 YDS 139 TD 3 LG 33 That's the day I knew Hardy would be a 1st round pick. King was on him all day, and Hardy really abused him.
  13. It depends on what other teams are focusing on in their draft needs. I don't see much of a chance of him slipping past Denver and Carolina, but stranger things have happened. I think it depends on what the Pats and Chiefs do. KC has an obviously need at 5, but would probably have to reach for whatever OL they could reasonably take. The Pats at 7 just won 18 games last year they have the luxury of reaching. They could take Albert or they could go CB or LB. If both pass on OL, I think the Bears could get Clady. I'm convinced Carolina will go after a DE opposite of Peppers. They could also go after Kenny Phillips, with an outside shot at Brohm. Denver could go several ways. They could reach for a WR. They could use a LB, DT, or possibly Phillips.
  14. This just in. Get out 2 of Reyes, Wright and Beltran and you beat the Mets. Mets need another bat in a hurry, now that Delgado is dead and Alou is on life support.
  15. Very nice to throw only 101 pitches thru almost 8 innings, with 12 strikeouts. That's hard to do. I believe that's a career high for Mr. Gallagher.
  16. Allen's a real good player, but I doubt he's worth that much. That's a king's ransom. Also, in other news, I heard the Bengals turned down an offer of two first round picks for Ocho Cinco. Not a good move on their part methinks. Was it Dallas?
  17. The Bears just can't afford Matt Ryan. They can't afford to trade picks to get up in the draft enough to pick him (i.e. top 7 before the Ravens pick). They can't afford to pay a 1st round QB. And they can't afford to not take and OL in the top 50 (assuming they would give up their 1-2 to get in the top 7).
  18. Yeah, kinda sucks about The Riot. He was killing the ball. Hate to lose him while he's hitting the ball so well, because we all know he can slump with the worst of them.
  19. LeBron had 58 more assists, 28 more rebounds, and 14 more blocks than any season Kobe has ever had. LeBron also handles the ball more and is a good 2-3 inches taller. Better stats doesn't mean he's the better player. Heck, compare this season with Jordan's best assist, rebound and block season and I'm sure the numbers are at least similar.
  20. The 10:30am start is the best thing to happen to baseball since integration.
  21. How bad was the umpiring in this game? Cedeno beat one out at 1st. Reyes beat one out at 1st. Derosa was safe on a force out attempt at 2B. Soto beat out that swinging bunt at 1st. Missed balk call with the bases loaded. Strikezone was different on every pitch.
  22. A couple things in this game. Do you start Hank because of a night game last night? If so, you're probably gonna do the same thing Thursday with a night-day set in Colorado. How's Aramis feeling after taking a pitch to the elbow? If he is stiff and can't go, that would probably force Soto to be in there. How's Theriot's back? He's been killing the ball. If his back is OK, he should be in the lineup. I'd probably go with Soto today to help get offense for Ted today, with Hank getting the start tomorrow. And Soto back in there Thursday. If Aramis can't go, I think Cedeno's probably back in the lineup, but could be looking at Fukudome in the cleanup spot. In all honesty, this could be a decent day for a makeshift lineup. Getaway day, riding a 4-game win streak. You got Johnson, Derosa, Theriot, and Cedeno all red hot competing for 3 spots. All 4 are likely in the lineup tomorrow vs. a LHP, so do you give one a day off maybe 2 if you start Fontenot again?
