  1. Well that would mean the Cubs get swept by Washington this weekend....because they are gonna sweep the Brewers and Cards to start May.
  2. I guess I understand the point in leaving your starters at their starting position as long as they are in the game. Basically, I understand the idea that Theriot, the starting SS, should be at SS when he's in the game because that's the position he is on the team to play. But there also has to be something with getting your best defensive players in the right position late in the game. If you are gonna leave Cedeno in the game because his defense is better than Fontenot's, they why can't you make the defense better all around by putting the best defensive SS on the team at SS and Theriot at 2B, where he's probably pretty even with Derosa/Cedeno and better than Fontenot. Not a huge gripe, but I've always thought if Cedeno and Theriot were in the game together, Cedeno, the better SS of the 2 (range, arm, turning two) should be there with Theriot at 2B. On one hand, it would be like moving Lee to LF so Ward can play 1B. On the other, Derosa is the starting 2B but gets moved all over the place so bench players can be more comfortable. Again, not a huge gripe, because Theriot probably won't screw that play up the next 150 chances he gets.
  3. Madden gonna constantly dry hump that game case. Just kidding......it won't be dry at all.
  4. 2 hard hit singles. One should have been fielded but was hit like a rocket.
  5. Maybe Melo should give him some weed to calm him down a little. Yeah, right. Where do you think Melo gets it from?
  6. Colvin now with 4 walks in his last 3 games. Not bad for a guy that walked 5 times in 62 games last year in Tennessee. Showing decent pop with 9 of his 19 hits for extra bases, including 6 of his last 10.
  7. Doesn't get much dumber than Lou tonight. I'm sorry if it offends anyone.
  8. Reed needs to be taking there. REgardless of where that was.
  9. Sac bunts in Colorado is also a dumb idea, Lou.
  10. Good thing Aramis hit a HR and not a single, or the Cubs would have Marquis at 1b.
  11. NostRAWdamus. It's a gift and a curse. I'm going to bed too. 1130 for us easterners.
  12. oh snap, that slider looked nasty on gamecast.
  13. The move only makes sense if you are going to steal with Pie to get the runner in scoring position. But it sure didn't look like that was his inent. STill doesn't make sense, because in the event you do tie, you lose your best hitter. If you take the lead, you lose your best defender.
  14. What's wrong with you? That was before the HR.
  15. Wow. Seriously? Hope this game goes extras so Lou looks stupid.
  16. I'm also a Murton fan and Ward should have been hitting there. He's the big money on the bench. He's paid to come up late with the game on the line, whether a LH or RH is on the mound. Now, he won't get to hit for any of the next 7 batters at least. Lou has overcoached tonight.
  17. I'd hit Ward anyway. He can hit lefties. I don't like Murton in this spot.
  18. Yeah, Colorado would never blow a game when leading after 7. At least not after they've blown the last 2 exactly that way.
  19. I'm calling a sac fly. Walk to Geo. 11 pitch double for Cedeno to clear the bases.
  20. Wow, what a stupid call. But the Cubs are getting everything right so far this season.
  21. Why do I keep wanting to call him Russ Johnson?
