  1. Agreed. He's off my "pitchers that make me nervous when they come in" list Meanwhile, 7/9 of the lineup is on my "hitter that makes me angry when they come up with runners on base" list.
  2. Think how the Kings felt after they had to blow up their team. Although they got lucky they could clear cap space thanks to the Canadian Border Patrol. It's probably a good move because a good organization made it. But Saad was one of my favorites and it sucks from that standpoint. I have heard about Dano for a couple years though and I think he's going to be really good. Still hate to trade an already good 22 year old.
  3. I don't like this [expletive] at all.
  4. I like Buchholz a ton. When he's healthy, he's a top 10 caliber SP in all of baseball and one of my favorites to watch. I don't know that Buchholz will be much cheaper than Hamels in terms of asking price in a trade. He should be cheaper based on his injury history, but his contract isn't prohibitive for the Red Sox, who do have a lot of young talent already. Seems like they could really use some young pitching, which doesn't match up that well with the Cubs.
  5. Are we sure he's not the worst?
  6. Beat all the bad-to-mediocre teams, split with the good teams (like Dodgers series), and lose to the team God handpicked and we're still a pretty good team.
  7. That's why we can never have nice things.
  8. Cubs have hit into 9 outs thru 4 innings. 1-6 with RISP. 5-9 without RISP.
  9. I can't physically listen to Bob Costas. I will [expletive] stab myself in the ears if I do.
  10. I do too. He's grimacing. Cubs 4 out of 5 at the plate since.
  11. Ha. I think Wacha's legit hurting right now.
  12. Ugh. Would have liked more than 1 there. Bases loaded 1-out, pitcher actually gets a hit with a real hitter coming up.
  13. That inning was every offensive inning the Cubs had yesterday.
  14. Yay! Unfavorable pitching matchup on paper for the Cubs. 2-0 this week when opposing starter is better. 0-3 when opposing starter is inferior this week. Roach goes 6 IP, 6 hits, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 Ks. Cubs scrape across 1 late win 2-1.
  15. So, uh....Max Scherzer? Last 23 innings, 1 hit, 0 ER, 1 BB, 29 Ks.
  16. He's only 32 and played in the majors as recently as 2 years ago. This isn't at all strange or interesting for the purposes of this board.
  17. Might have been a walk-off HR. Can't really see the ball all that well, but it looks like it might have hit the very top of the wall (on or above yellow line) or that a fan might have touched it. No camera shot of the OF getting the ball at all. So, it looks like it should either be a walk-off 2-run HR or a ground-rule double and the runner should have had to stop at 3B. But could be just the poor camera work. http://www.bleachernation.com/2015/06/26/kyle-schwarbers-new-challenges-and-hits-a-walk-off-for-iowa-video/
  18. Portis is a decent pick. Grant, Anderson, Wright and Portis were 4 of my top 6 on the board at 19 (along with Tyus and RHJ).
