  1. That .725 OPS in AAA the last 45 days isn't scaring anyone.
  2. They are terrible, but to be fair, the team is awful and their only good player is injured I guess Wrigley's spoiled me. Even in our worst moments the last three years it was never this quiet Cuz cellphones....amirite?
  3. Castro's back! World Series here we come!
  4. What am I missing? Gameday has no errors. And Markakis with a single.
  5. No but there sure is a lot of suck. Eh, it's the same suck that's always in the lineup. At least we get RH Fowler,.
  6. Single best Cubs lineup (on paper) since what? 2008?
  7. Read he was consistently hitting 94 the last couple times out. I think that's about where he was last year.
  8. Rizzo to me has always looked like he is supposed to be fatter. Or that he used to be about 300lbs in highschool, but lost a bunch of weight.
  9. Funny that Mike Martz was the only non-disaster as a coach he's had. Head or OC. Hell, the DCs have been jokes most of the time too. From incompetent (Tucker) to Babich just there for show, the Bears as an organization has been terrible since the Cutler trade. Lovie was far from a disaster. But, yes, everyone else has been a joke. lovie and marinelli were both good in their roles. Forgot about Marinelli for some reason. And in the first part, I meant offensive coaches. Wasn't clear at all. Lovie was definitely not a disaster.
  10. Funny that Mike Martz was the only non-disaster as a coach he's had. Head or OC. Hell, the DCs have been jokes most of the time too. From incompetent (Tucker) to Babich just there for show, the Bears as an organization has been terrible since the Cutler trade.
  11. Yes, correct. And the point this whole time is it doesn't matter what other teams pitching is ranked. We don't hit any of them. So if a team can score four runs consistently against us the trend is that we will lose. But teams can't score 4 runs consistently against the Cubs, because they are good at pitching. That's why they're a playoff team at this point in the season. This is stupid logic. Better teams win more games than and against lesser teams.
  12. Yes, that would be a complete disaster. I may hate myself for bringing this up, but Schwarber / Bryant / Soler in the OF with Coghlan at 3B might be slightly less of a disaster. I don't know that it would be THAT big of an issue. Between the games the Cubs face a LH starter, late inning defensive replacements, being a high strikeout and slightly groundball throwing pitching staff, and the season being halfway over....I think the difference would be pretty close to negligible if that alignment provides enough of an offensive boost.
  13. I wonder what is the league average for games with under 3 runs scored in a season.
  14. Couldn't get that trade done without Johns? Don't like it. Oduya willing to take a huge discount?

    Castro

Good thing is that the Castro haters were still wrong for most of five years. Bad news is, i agree. I'm ready to make Castro a bench player/utility IF once Javy gets a couple games at AAA. Do you remember how bad Javy was last year? It's far from a guarantee that would even be a positive move.
  16. Yeah, I agree. But because of the stupid rebuilding idea, this won't be the only pennant race this team is in, because those non-producing players should start producing. Some of them probably won't. And while I agree that they will probably be in more pennant races, I don't think it is a gimme putt they'll be in enough to justify the rebuild. There are still plenty of paths to mediocrity from here. Can't argue with that. But what other choice did they have (lack of money) and what other choice do they have now (talent is in majors)?
  17. Hindsight is 20/20 but yah he should been moved at the winter meetings No he shouldn't have. He had a solid year last year, a team friendly contract, and was the 2nd best hitter on the team. There was no reason to trade him this winter. Russell wasn't up. Baez wasn't good enough. There weren't any options better than what 2014 Castro projected to provide the Cubs in 2015.
  18. Yeah, I agree. But because of the stupid rebuilding idea, this won't be the only pennant race this team is in, because those non-producing players should start producing.
  19. I hate pinch hitting Coghlan for Denorfia. Denorfia is not that bad of a hitter to justify that move. He's actually better against RHP than LHP. You have Teagarden and the P coming up. Why not hit Coghlan for one of them instead a half decent hitter?
  20. Same suspension as Brady as of now. Wasn't he suspended all but 1 game last year for this too? He was. Still got paid, though, on that made-up 'commissioner's exempt list'. Yep. All that matters (to him) is he loses just 4 game checks for hitting a woman. Which is deemed equal to deflating footballs.
