This seems like a good mindset for him. Focus on hitting stuff hard to right and then just react on anything hard and in. At the very least it would force pitchers to change things up from living on the outside half against him. He's got enough pop that he's not just going to be hitting weak singles that way, so it seems like he could do some damage even with that approach. He's a singles hitter that doesn't get enough singles. He did enough damage with that approach for the first part of his career. He's definitely thinking too much at the plate.
