  1. Uh damn.
  2. I just want the best player (non-QB), especially now that the top two guards are gone. I like Ertz better as a fit, honestly. I like his ability to be an outside the numbers guy if necessary. Eifert's just a TE. Similar to Bennett. But I think Ertz has more formation versatility.
  3. Jarvis Jones would be my pick....they'll probably take Floyd though.
  4. May be the first team to actually take the best player on the board. Including the #1 pick. And he fits a need.
  5. That was literally the only spot between 13-20 that I did NOT see Richardson going.
  6. Looking good for the Bears. Possible to get either Floyd or Richardson at 20. Potential still there for trade up by Atlanta (Rhodes), San Francisco (Vaccaro if gets past PIT), and the QB needy teams.
  7. Rhodes is a big, physical CB. He may be better than Milliner. Better ball skills, better in press coverage. The big concern is he plays high (but he's almost 6'2") and if he can stick with quicker WRs in man coverage. To me, he's almost physically the same player as Morris Claiborne was last year. Claiborne has (much?) better ball skills and was more proven in man coverage than Rhodes is coming out. Good tackler. Rhodes though would be best suited pressing at the line, bailing into a zone then breaking on the ball. Good fit for a Bears type defense.
  8. I don't hate Te'o. I think he's a good fit. He makes up for his lack of elite athleticism with great instincts. He is solid in zone coverage which the Bears are known to play with their LBs. Dont like him at 20 though. I think u gotta wait for the chips to start falling. Trade back until a LB goes off the board (Ogletree). If u want Te'o and wind up with Arthur Brown or Kevin Minter all is not lost.
  9. Two players that'll keep the Bears at #20 are Richardson and Tavon Austin. I want to get Jay another weapon in the top 50, but damn Richardson and Brown would be the best 2 picks I could reasonably hope for.

    Week #4

This season is what? 24 days old. And I believe I have had the high score for about half of those days. Oh and Strasburg has been my 4th best starter. Would be 6th if Cueto and Grienke were healthy.
  11. One thing to remember is that a 1st rounder gets 5 years guaranteed, while second round means only 4 years. With a QB that may not start right away, u definitely want that extra year. So I think teams will trade back into the 1st. But I don't think they are giving up future 1s to do so.
  12. I'm about 90% sure the Bears trade down. That makes it tough to mock. I also think the Bears alternate O And D with their first 3 picks. I'm intrigued by the thought of a TE followed by LB or DT then followed with a WR. Gives the potential of a great aerial attack in 2TE or 4 wr sets. That being said, I think the TE interest is a smokescreen. I don't see why Evan Rodriguez can't be that #2. Bears have hinted at getting a true FB and moVing ERod to TE.
  13. Dopirak was a legit prospect. 56th overall pick. And his season in low A was one of the top ten I've ever seen in the minors. And still never amounted to anything. My point stands. Yes, but Dopirak was at least talented enough to amount to something. Much better pedigree, projection, and potential to play an actual position in the field for Dopirak than Shoulders.

  15. Interesting write-up, good stuff. Also noticed you used the word we or we've a dozen times when writing up the Steelers draft info and zero with the Bears. Didn't realize you had crossed that far over to the dark side. That's not me. A friend of mine does the Steelers specific stuff.
  16. My final positional rankings. http://mr-irrelevantpgh-chi.blogspot.com/
  17. Vitters is supposed to be back any day now. Lake probably out a couple more weeks. Nothing on Almora that I can find.
  18. Cates did get off to a good start this year but couldn't make it out of the 1st. 3bbs, 3 hits. 6 er
  19. There's also been massive regime change on the Bears and they will have to adjust to the new offensive system, which will not be easy early on. You also shouldn't discount the turmoil New Orleans dealt with in their coaching staff, contributing to their downfall. Its the 5th game. Regime change isn't an excuse by that point. And the Bears hsve had a new offensive system every year for the last 4 and played well to start the season. But the same defensive coaching staff almost the entire time. And the defense was the part of the team pulling the load. That defense is on the downslope now and the offense will have to be the one carrying the load. An offense led by a guy who hasn't coached in the NFL for a decade and assisted by multiple guys in the same situation. That is definitely a concern on the defensive side of the ball. But the increase of talent and actual NFL caliber playbook should make up for most of that. And I'd imagine it would start to do so in or before Week 5.

  21. That early in the season the chances are not as good as later. Not the Bear weather thing but I always want to force New Orleans outdoors in more wintery conditions. Agreed. The Bear weather thing is meatbally but I think there's definitely something to wanting to get a high powered offensive dome team in crappy brutally cold weather. I don't care about the weather. NO was a bad team last year, with the worst D in league history. The Bears were a pretty good team and have been very good early in the season in recent history. I'd like to think the combo of being at home, having their former interim head coach on the staff, and frankly being a better team would mean the Bears beat New Orleans. Edit: and I know things will drastically change by the time this game is played, but this is hypothetical as of today.
  22. I'd hope the Bears can beat the Saints in Chicago. This would be a good schedule to win 7 of 8 or 7 of 10 to start the season like the last 2 years.
  23. All non primetime games at noon.
  24. Do you post on Twitter when you update this, by any chance? No but I can....u gonna follow me?
  25. Schedule time. Here's to the Bears are the Eagles home opener! The last 4 Super Bowl winners have been the Eagles first home opponent that year.
