  1. You talk [expletive] to someone 6'7", 315, you deserve to be punched in the face. You root for The Ohio State University....you deserve to be punched in the face.
  2. If the Bears lose this week and things go right everywhere else around the league, the Bears could be drafting as high as 12th, depending on what happens with the tiebreakers.
  3. How is that possible?
  4. Not really. You don't think so? He was flat-footed and it required Hixon to make a pretty special catch. Low and away from the defender. It could have been up a little bit, but any decent WR makes that catch.
  5. Not really.
  6. That's still true. The Bears couldn't stop Dallas, Baltimore, or Green Bay and won all those games, 1 of them easily. They should have beaten Washington and Minnesota despite not being able to stop the run, and those teams wouldn't have won if they didn't throw as well as they did on late game-tying/winning drives. Then there's the Rams and Eagles. But still, not being able to stop the run is terrible, but I think the lack of a pass rush is more damaging. Granted, you can't have the worst run D in league history, but I'll take a bottom 5 run D over a bottom 5 pass D 100x out of 100.
  7. Collins is 26. If you mean Ratliff, yeah he's old. Melton and Collins are FAs. Emery is going to have to do the DL like he did the OL last year. Sign FAs, draft a couple guys. If you figure Peppers is cut and I'm thinking Melton will want too much money as a FA, coming off a knee injury than a team that will have to pay a QB wants to pay. Collins is also a FA. As is Wootton and Ratliff. So, the only guys under contract are Paea, McClellin, and a bunch of rookies. None of that group should be guaranteed a roster spot.
  8. Yes, so it should have been Pittsburgh ball, with a penalty taking them back 15 yards from the spot it was batted.
  9. DJ Williams really hurt too. He played well in his brief time. I didn't think he was anything special. Basically if he was still playing, I don't think the Bears allow a significantly less amount of yards. Plus, I don't count that as a big injury because a) odds are he was going to get injured at some point anyway. b) I thought Bostic would be the better player.
  10. As I've said all year, the age thing is overblown. The only player who has really aged and is not anywhere near as good as he was is Peppers. Tillman struggled when he was out there, but he was OK. Jennings has been solid. Briggs was OK before he got hurt. The young guys on the defense have sucked. Wright, Conte, Bostic, Greene, Cohen, Paea, McClellin. At this point, I have to say the injuries at DT. Melton and Collins got hurt. Paea basically has had a lost season. Not necessarily them being out has killed the team, but the guys they replaced them with were terrible. Landon Cohen, Zach Minter, and Christian Tupou are not true NFL talent. 265lb Corey Wootton inside is a liability.
  11. The biggest offensive adjustment would be to improve the defense...not let themselves get down so big so early, so the defense can't tee off on them, and they don't have to abandon the run. The offense still had a chance to get back into it after 14-0. They went 3 and out in their first 3 drives, IIRC. The offense has to keep the defense off the field. What? That game ended when Hester fumbled. No it ended when the Bears went 3 and out, down 14 and Podlesh had his second 25 yard punt. Bears came out down 14-0 and ran the ball up the middle 2 times.
  12. Yeah, point is....it should have been 14-7 if they wanted to have any chance in the game. Would have had momentum and changed field position.

  14. Not necessarily. If Dallas beats Philly for the division and the Bears win, they're back to the 3 seed since they have the tiebreaker over DAL. Even if they end up the 4 seed, I like the Saints chances of going into Philly and getting a win, which would still give us Carolina in the 2nd round. And count me among those people who rather face SF than NO in the 1st round. I don't know why you'd want a team that can't stop the run face a team that's one of the best at running the ball. Especially one that also plays the best defense of any team likely to be in the playoffs. Rough matchup. Bears could win, but I'm not going to be confident.
  15. Yeah, I'm not sure how many B1G games this team is going to win. Every team (other than Illinois ironically) is older and more experienced. And U of I seems to have put it together faster than IU's young guys *cough*coaching*cough*. Right now it would be a monumental upset for IU to beat Michigan St, Ohio St, or Wisconsin even at home. And it's a toss-up at best vs. Illinois, Iowa, and Michigan at home. Can't see them beating any of those teams on the road. And then there's Minnesota, who's probably about at the same level.
  16. Happened a week too late for IU.
  17. Oh and the Eagles provided a blueprint to the Packers of how to slow down this offense. The Packers had a lot of success last year, bracketing Brandon Marshall with CB underneath and S help over top (basically a double-team). They were probably cautious of doing that with Jeffery emerging, but like the Eagles...if they show numbers pre-snap on a blitz, the Bears will have to max protect and can only send out 3-4 receivers, so they can double both Marshall and Jeffery and man up on the Bennetts (with a LB and nickel) and force them to beat the defense with Forte having to stay in to block. Trestman better make adjustments. I'd spread them out. Maybe even go empty (Forte out wide). They'll either get out of the blitz or be subjected to a bunch of short passes to wide open receivers. Would be nice to get Forte on the edge too. Stop running inside completely.
  18. I could have showed up to work today without pants on (and it's cold out) and been less embarrassed than the Bears were last night. I'm actually not that devastated by the game last night. [expletive] just went wrong a lot. Give up a TD on good coverage. Fumble a good kickoff return. Back-to-back sacks takes away a chance to get back into the game early. Overturned fumble, gets a tired D back on the field when they thought they were off. Safety gets them right back on the field again. But I have come to realize that the Bears went from potential of having a favorable path to the NFCC (Saints outdoors in the cold, inexperienced Panthers on the road) to now IF they get in, they get to face the 49ers in the first round, and will get run all over and probably lose miserably.
  19. They have 54 [expletive] points.
  20. Jeffrey, Marshall, Forte out of the game also.
  21. And McCown is coming in.
  22. Love the slow motion of Bostic getting held at the point of attack.
  23. Yeah Cutler has been fine. A couple missed throws. Holding onto the ball too long a couple times. But Bennett has 2 drops, 1 each for Marshall and Forte. Not like there's anything he could be doing to make this a different game.
