  1. Have you seen him play lately? He's incredibly slow now. He's done.
  2. The chronology of the offseason is going to play a role. They can't really pull the trigger on McCown until after the draft and franchise window. If no QB is drafted, I'd expect McCown to be back. I don't think drafting an early-round QB is a given, unless the chances of a Cutler extension look to be especially bleak. You can't go into free agency with 0 QBs. I think this increases the chances Jay is back. If the franchise deadline passes and Jay is not tagged, I think that means he will not be back and in that case, I think you sign McCown the first day of free agency. The draft isn't til May this year. The Bears will have either Cutler or McCown on the roster by then. I don't see much chance they have both though, simply because of the price tags both will command.
  3. Do you want to end your career starting for the Jags or be a member of a playoff team? Josh strikes me as a guy who might want a Super Bowl instead. He also leads the league in that QBR stat and put up 1000 yards in 3 weeks. I'm sure he thinks he could win games if he's playing, regardless of the team. He's spent enough time in the league not playing. He was teaching school or something last year. I'm sure he wants to play and get a decent payday or two more than he wants to watch his team get a ring from the sidelines.
  4. McCown will get 3Mil easily in free agency. Whether to be a backup or to be a bridge to a young QB. And you're looking at 14-16Mil for Cutler depending on if he's franchised or signed long-term with a cap friendly # the first year. That's 17-19Mil on the QB position. I don't know that that's going to happen. And I know Cutler and McCown are friends and Josh has said the company line that he's just a backup. But this is potentially his last NFL contract. Does he want to be in a situation where he's the clear #2, with no chance to ever be a full-time starter? If I were him, I'd take less to sign with the Browns or Jags or some [expletive].
  5. The Packers won a [expletive] with Favre throwing INTs left and right. Jay's not as good as Favre, but this is the first time he's had anything resembling the level of talent Favre had around him. The INTs suck. But it's not stupid throws he's making like Romo has done. He's just making bad throws. Both throws today were missed. Behind Marshall in the end zone and obviously way over his head the 2nd time. That seems to be his biggest issue. In the past it was Hester and Knox running wrong/bad routes, combined with a few bad throws. Recently it's been bad throws. Every QB makes a handful of just awful reads per year that get picked. Peyton had one Thursday night. This game was Jay Cutler in a nutshell. A couple bad throws, but when he got in a rhythm he ended up winning the game. And I'm Ok with that.
  6. Pretty crazy, the Lions could be eliminated before Week 17.
  7. I wouldn't go S in the first round, though I do think Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is pretty good. DL is more of a need. And with Wright a FA, I'd just let him walk and sign a better player. I'd probably draft a FS (probably around the usual 3rd round) to at least challenge Conte, who I believe is in the last year of his deal next year anyway. I've been pretty convinced that Conte would be better with better players around him, but he's had plenty of plays (like the TD today) where they have been 100% on him and only him. I'd keep him around though, because he is cheap and young though.
  8. This catch somewhat reminds me of the Jeffery catch vs Nebraska his junior year... http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view7/4726130/alshon-jeffery-nebraska-o.gif I thought he was going to be a top 10 overall pick when I saw that live. Thank goodness South Carolina had QB problems the next year which caused his stock to drop. That Nebraksa game was his junior year (that was his last college game). That's what I thought too. I was going to look it up. That was fat Alshon.
  9. Bears defensive players, "man, Cutler is going to make us lose games!" Let that sink in.
  10. Jay only threw 9 incompletions, despite a 2 -3 series complete loss of any idea where the ball was going.
  11. Stop [expletive] blitzing. Its not getting home.
  12. So a blowout was too much to ask for. What about a win against a terrible team.
  13. So yeah they started running.
  14. Good time for vintage D to show up. Dumbasses are refusing to run on a team giving up about 208 per game since October.
  15. Steltz at SS. Wright was out of the game there.
  16. Why would that scare you there? I don't know.
  17. Trestman scares me with the lack of timeouts. Sucks to be playing Marshall in the playoffs.
  18. Gotta get a damn stop.
  19. FFFFFUUUUUCCCCKKKKK!
  20. [expletive]. Billick u dumbass that's illegal.
  21. Cutler hasn't made a good throw in his last 4-5.
  22. Marshall has to catch that first pass.
