  1. They are clearly better, but either way that was a terrible throw on the INT bad defense or not McCown makes the same throw. Nobody was open underneath.
  2. Bush ran hard on that one.
  3. Bowman on the screen ran into a guy already blocking someone. Anderson ran directly into the blitz pickup on that last play.
  4. Billick masturbating during break.....oh Cutler Int.
  5. Ratliff and Wootton starting at DT. Paea on the bench to start.
  6. Inactives: Briggs, Palmer, Cattouse, Washington, Brown, Scott, Tupou
  7. Is it too much to ask for sort of a blowout today? The Browns have lost 4 straight and 7 of 8. They've given up 27 in each of the last 4. Not that the Browns are horrible, but this is a Bears team that should be making a run for the division right now and a Browns team that has had bad, demoralizing losses all year long. This should be a good chance for the Bears to hold an opposing RB under 100 yards. The Browns don't run very much or very well, with an almost 2:1 pass/run ratio and just 84 ypg on the ground. If they can't stop the Browns run game, they're going to be in for a fight. Jason Campbell starting should be fun. He's played pretty well. Getting rid of the ball quickly and not making many mistakes. The Bears really good a good game out of Peppers a couple weeks ago, when they had him stunting a lot to avoid Matt Kalil. I'd like to see them do the same and get him away from Joe Thomas. Obviously, Josh Gordon is a beast for them but Jordan Cameron will be the biggest matchup problem, IMO. He has 72 catches this year, 1 more than Gordon. And is a huge threat against a team whose LBs and safeties should be focusing on stopping the run first and foremost. Jay needs to come out hot on offense. Get the Browns behind early, and they aren't going to be able to come back. I'm hoping for an easy one. 31-13 ish. But if it's close at the half, watch out.
  8. Vonleh and Yogi missed front ends. Yogi and Sheehey with a bad and missed wide open 3. Crean has no clue. Vonleh didn't touch the ball more than 2 times in the second half.
  9. Horrible defensive half. Some strange substitution patterns by Crean as usual but some did work. Actually had a run with Etherington playing the 5 basically with no Yogi on the floor.
  10. Vonleh getting abused in the paint. No ball pressure though and their getting easy passes into the lane.
  11. Take it easy on us, IU. I really doubt that will be required. IU's best win is currently against Pomeroy No. 126 Stony Brook, and their only win against a BCS conference team is No. 149 Washington. Notre Dame, at No. 58, would be by far IU's best win. IU is athletic and has a lot of potential, but they're pretty far from being a very good team. I would expect this to be a close game. Yeah and this is the last chance to get a quality non conference win. Must win for IU.
  12. Wow. He was really good 2 years ago. He's already 33 though. What positions can he play?
  13. this thread is a dumbass.
  14. Opposite situation for me this week. I'm playing the #3 seed that lead the league in points. I'm the #2 and finished about 5th in points, IIRC. I beat him twice this year, though he outscored me by 300 over the course of the season. So far, looking pretty good. He had Decker, Moreno, and Julius Thomas last night. I had Gates and SD's Kicker. I'm only down 28-17.
  15. Actually a lot of interceptions happen because QBs have their favorites and they throw them the ball whether they are open or not. Call it weird morality reasons or trust in a certain guy or thinking you can get the receiver open, but it happens. A lot?
  16. Yeah, deep was wrong. Over 15 yards past the line of scrimmage is more accurate. But my point was if McCown can throw for 350 3x in a row doing it, then why not keep Cutler on that same playbook if it also helps protect him from being hurt again.
  17. I get the logic but why bring back Cutler if you aren't going to let him play his game? I don't think that's going to do much to help the Bears decide if Cutler is the guy next year and beyond. It's working though and it will help protect Jay (from injury and criticism), though I'm not sure the team cares about the latter and maybe not either at this point.
  18. I'd imagine they'd go with a similar offense as McCown has had success with. Less downfield throws than Cutler's used to, but more safe throws with max protection and a Forte checkdown.
  19. Guttierez plz LF - Lake CF - Sweeney/Guttierez RF - Schierholtz/Ruggiano ? Isn't Gutierrez a bad CF?
  20. Or a pickup to show they are interested and see if the Pirates will trade him to the Cubs so they can stash him in AAA.
  21. Yeah, it's nice to find the marginal upgrade when possible, but it won't really matter much until the core is upgraded substantially. Agreed. But I feel the core could get really good in a hurry. Granted, it would require a ton of luck. But Rizzo, Castro, and Olt turning it around. Baez meeting those projections. Bryant. Getting Tanaka or Choo would help a ton too. I feel like this offseasons moves are much better than last years, so far. I feel like they actually have a purpose.
  22. Those teams aren't screwed because of what they are paying their QBs. The Cowboys are poorly run and coached. The Giants are aging and injured on the OL. Oh and Eli has been terrible. The Ravens lost a bunch of players they didn't really need to be paying anyway (Ellerbe and Kruger were overpaid, Reed old). They'll be fine. Bears will be fine too if they can continue to find cheap talent (Slauson, Anderson, Jennings a few years ago) and most of all start hitting in the draft more often.
  23. Things like workout bonuses happen all the time. I'm not so sure games played bonuses exist. Found an old Tebow article... Not quite the same, but it makes me think a clause about games played/started would be possible. Although Cutler may be unlikely to accept that. Yeah, I don't know if you could do that with a guy that is going to be a starter and signing that big of a contract. It's basically adding an injury clause in his contract, which is not allowed.
  24. Letting Cutler go probably means that Marshall would be gone after his contract is up too. Maybe even request a trade. One good thing about the Cutler/Marshall relationship is that I'm sure Marshall would be willing to restructure (aka paycut) in order to fit Cutler in the cap, even at a franchise tag level.
  25. 20Mil isn't even an option. And I don't think Cutler will ask for that much. Romo only got an average of 18Mil per year. I think he'd ask for 17-18 and "settle" for 15-16 depending on how much he wants to stay here. I'd sign him for 5/80 right now and basically guarantee his first 2 years.
