  1. Shark is certainly more valuable than Anderson, but I don't think either Pomeranz or Jensen would qualify as top 100 prospects. 3 top 50 for Shark is execessive. Point = if teams are overpaying...... didn't think I'd have to explain that was tongue in cheek.
  2. So, Evan Gordon.....
  3. Man the Cubs better get 3 top 50 prospects for Samardzija if that's what people are giving up for Anderson and Trumbo.
  4. I made fun of the experts who said Briggs was a bigger loss than Cutler.
  5. Paea only played 18 of the 55 or whatever snaps last night. Wonder why. Ratliff showed flashes as did Landon Cohen. Wonder what Major Wright's score was.
  6. Yeah, Gordon is a beast. I'm expecting an AJ Green type game from him, but that's gotta be all. Jordan Cameron is a bad matchup too, but stopping the run of a team that can't run is the key. They have not won much being 1-dimensional since they don't have a ton of weapons.
  7. If Cutler and Weeden aren't ready to go this week, this game becomes a who's who of recent Bears backup QB history. Jason Campbell would start, his backup Caleb Hanie. Should be interesting to see how this game plays out. I don't think the Browns should be favored. They can't score with the Bears, and they give up their fair share of points, despite being decent in yards against. Browns also aren't a good running team at all. And it's not like they have the ability/history there like Baltimore or the Rams did before they gashed the Bears. If you can't keep a 7th straight player from going over 100 yards rushing, there's no excuses. Campbell has also thrown for like 350 in his last 3 games. Bears can't allow that either.
  8. Not necessarily. It's late enough in the season that you can IR him and spin it as him not able to get back to 100% if he's indeed lost his job and has no future with the team.
  9. Cleveland has a pretty good pass defense (9th in the league). And I don't think the Bears will be able to take Cutler out if he's ineffective. Not an ego thing, but simply because you have to win out to get in. Messing around at QB is a good way to lose. The right choice has to be made at the start of the game. Oh and I agree, Cutler struggling isn't likely in this offense. He didn't struggle when he was healthy. And worst case, you give him the easy throws McCown has had and he does similar.
  10. That's the thing, I've been very pro keeping Cutler (still am) not only because I think he's a good QB, but the alternatives aren't nearly as good, and I don't think you can conceivably put that money elsewhere and have it be of better use. It's not like you're going to find a 5-10mil/year QB that's going to have similar production. Sure you can sign 2 stud defensive players for 17 mil or whatever, but that's not going to make the defense good enough to combat the likely decline in offense. As for trading up for a QB, I don't think that happens. Their draft board is going to be the same with or without Cutler. If you're desperate enough to trade up for a QB, then you keep the QB you already have. No reason to put yourself in that situation.
  11. God, I think I'm starting to drink the Kool Aid. At some point, the Bears gotta go with the hot hand. What if Cutler comes back and there is an offensive dropoff (due to rust or mistakes made in a more open offense)? The offense can't afford to miss a beat, as the defense isn't good enough for this team to win if they don't hit their average of 28 ppg. Not really worried about Cutler not being able to move the ball. Moreso about turnovers. I'm convinced Jay has the same yardage or better than McCown the last few weeks. But he almost certainly has more turnovers (though McCown has been extremely lucky several of his passes haven't been picked off). The Bears say they haven't decided on Cutler's future, but how could they have not? If you are even leaning toward NOT bringing Cutler back, then you might as well stick with McCown. If you're the other way, Jay has to be back in there when able.
  12. Yeah, he's a senior. I think he'll get a shot as a 6th or 7th rounder as a QB. Doesn't look like much of a thrower though. But I wouldn't count him out.
  13. No Podlesh complaints tonight! Because he's been exclusively a holder.
  14. Heh. He got the first and stayed in.
  15. Conte has at least 71 tackles tonight.
  16. Fyi, Jordan Mills has been excellent tonight in space.
  17. Uh 4 TD passes and a TD run.
  18. LOL. WTF? Trestman has McCown on his fantasy team.
  19. That's the first time McCown has completed that play.
  20. Best crowd of the season. Lol. Very aware. Loud cheers when Bush does something and when an opposing run play is under 19 yards.
  21. McCown's arm just isn't good enough.
  22. Greene with a good series there.
