  1. So, Baez has bad intangibles? Who cares? He can [expletive] hit. And yeah, I don't see why people are upset. Law loves him as a hitter. We can all use deductive reasoning based on what we've heard about Baez and determine he's probably onto something, even if he is being to hard on Javy.
  2. Is he inching back into the system's top 15-20? .286/.342/.571/.914 in his last 18 games (since 7/1) I'll probably have him close to 20, and he'll be helped by Alcantara and Hendricks graduating. But he is repeating the level and was demoted. Anything he does in low A shouldn't boost his value though. For me, he's going to have to hit like that in Daytona before I elevate him. Of course, I'm probably not knocking him as much as many.
  3. Promotiagua'd? Also works for Jeffery Antigua
  4. Eli, Flacco and Big Ben always get boosted up for winning rings. Flacco hasn't completed 60% in 3 years, and last year threw more INTs than TDs. Eli has a handful of seasons where he has basically been Matt Schaub. Roethlisberger is pretty good, so he's actually about in the right spot. Though I wonder if he would be behind Rivers without the rings.
  5. I don't think I heard about that?
  6. Javy comes off cocky. I've always assumed he was with the whole, "I do whatever I want" stuff. But there has been no complaints from anyone that matters. None of his teammates have badmouthed him. No coaches. Nobody from the front office.
  7. Lets say they move him to LF, where he happens to play league average defense for a good amount of time...does that change anyones perception of him? If he sticks at 1B past this year...would he only be auditioning for a trade there? No. He still needs to hit better/for more power.
  8. GRAND SLAM ADDISON RUSSELL! 2 HR game.
  9. Nothing to see in the 2nd game for Tennessee. No Russell, no Soler, no starter of note
  10. Iowa hit 3 HRs in the 2nd. None by anyone who matters. Javy now with the longest Baez hitting steak in the system at 13 with a 2-run double.
  11. 28 to 4 K/BB. Really the most important thing at this point. Most of them should be not giving up runs at this point against lesser talented hitters.
  12. Bryant 4 away from Baez again. In about 220 fewer plate appearances at Iowa. Baez hit 37 last year.
  13. Gave up a HR to Buxton. He should be a Cub by the end of the month.
  14. Buster Olney throwing out that the Rays want a top hitting prospect among others for Price. Mariners don't have one, So he suggests the Cubs get involved. If the Cubs trade one of their top prospects to help someone else get a big prize. .....so help me God! And I don't even want Price. But I'm not trading prospect for prospect.
  15. Schwarber catching tonight. Schwarcher? Am I doing it right?
  16. Like I pointed out, it's been 3.75 in his last 10, despite 3 4-walk games in there. The huge control issues seem to be rarer than they used to be.
  17. Bryant didn't get that on the sweet spot at all. I don't think Javy has hit one under 420 this year, unless it's been opposite field.
  18. I've read he's been impressive defensively and rebounding. Believe it said, he's NBA ready now based on his build and defense, but probably won't get much time this year.
  19. Not getting enough attention (understandbly, I guess). But he's at AA, putting up great numbers. Over 9 K/9. Walks down to a manageable 3.75 per 9 in his last 10. .203 BAA. Doesn't give up many HRs at all. Healthy unlike the other talent at the AA level, meaning he'll likely hit the majors before Edwards and Johnson. He'd be easy top 10 in a normal system for me. Probably top 10 if the Cubs didn't get Russell or draft Schwarber.
  20. Jeffery Baez's hit streak now at 20 games
  21. He's only hitting .500. I'd hardly call that "mastered"! OPS is like 1.250.
