  1. Schwarber has mastered high A now. Next?
  2. Jody Davis? Henry Blanco? Rick Wilkins? I thought it might have been a former Cubs catcher. Didn't Scott Servais have the job at one point? I think Wilkins did too actually.
  3. That's [expletive] terrible.
  4. Don't even remember him.
  5. Who's the Cubs catching instructor at the minor league/Arizona level?
  6. I don't really understand how Russell's ETA is 2015. He will only be 21 all next year, and given the likelihood of them calling up more than 1 of the older batch, and starting their clocks in 2015, I would think they might want to spread that out and wait until 2016 after he gives them no choice but to call him up. This will also give them a chance to figure out what they want to do with Castro longterm. That's exactly what I expect. But if he turns it on the rest of this year and starts to dominate AAA next year, it's going to be tough to keep him down there.
  7. Hmm. I don't know which is true. But I always heard he moved to Santa Claus as a kid/teen.
  8. Cutler is too, no? Was born in Georgia though (not much better)
  9. Didn't he get robbed of the Heisman because he was a sophomore? He was pretty good in college. Bigger armed Danny Wuerffel. Wasn't impressed.
  10. Oh and Rex is from Southern Indiana. Good chance he is a religious freak.
  11. I wanted Rex to play when he was here. But I never really wanted him on the Bears. He played at Bloomington South HS when I was at IU, and I saw him play and was like, "Ok, he's decent." Figured he would play in college, but like a MAC school or IU. When I found out he was going to Florida I felt he was undeserving. When I found out he was going to the Bears, I hoped I was wrong about him but assumed I was right. I have a theory that if I saw you play as an amateur without much fan fare or played against you, you can't possibly be that good.
  12. Moses Moreno says "HI". Oh and if I ever see Jonathan Quinn in the street, I'm punching him in the face for being such a terrible, terrible football thrower.
  13. I hate Jameer Nelson. No idea why, just don't like him. Sessions would be really nice.
  14. Those ETAs are fun. Next year is going to be really awesome!
  15. They said he'd get a few games at catcher here and there during the year, but he'd play mostly OF in 2014. Then they'll bring him to fall instructs and work with him. I have a hard time imagining how delaying his catching instruction will be all that helpful to teaching him how to be a catcher. Maybe the theory is doing it in a game does not equal instruction. In games he's basically doing what he's always done. In instructs, they can work with him to change the things he's been doing to make him better.
  16. so...who who hoosiers? Indeed. FYI, HOO HOO HOO HOOSIERS is a basketball chant they do at Assembly Hall. Yes, lamest chant in college sports, which is what I was mocking. Yes, not everybody can be innovative as ILL-INI

  18. Jeffery Baez has an 18-game hitting streak.
  19. They have a pretty good looking roster. PG- Jrue Holliday/Austin Rivers/Russ Smith SG- Lance Stephenson/Eric Gordon SF- Tyreke Evans/Anthony Morrow PF- Anthony Davis C- Omer Asik/Ryan Anderson Hornets are in Charlotte now. You posted the Pelicans. Hornets have a decent roster too though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yeah, we already did this. I googled "Hornets roster" and it sent me to the Pelicans page. Really? It shows the entire Hornets roster at the top of the page for me. Must have been fixed. When I did it, I clicked on the ESPN link (2nd one down) and it took me to the Pelicans page. Edit: maybe I looked up "Hornets stats".
  20. Are you seriously using All star appearances as an argument? *not that I disagree with your premise, just your reasoning.

  22. Charlotte would be: PG- Kemba Walker SG- Stephenson/ SF- Kidd-Gilchrist PF- Noah Vonleh C- Al Jefferson/Cody Zeller Heh, they have Vonleh, Cody Zeller and DJ White. A Who's Who of Hoosiers.
  23. They have a pretty good looking roster. PG- Jrue Holliday/Austin Rivers/Russ Smith SG- Lance Stephenson/Eric Gordon SF- Tyreke Evans/Anthony Morrow PF- Anthony Davis C- Omer Asik/Ryan Anderson Wrong Hornets Ha. Oh [expletive]. Forgot about that. Well the Pelicans roster looks decent.

  25. To be fair, the one thing Emery has done is go after healthy players. Neither Slauson or Bushrod has ever missed a game since becoming full-time starters. Garza has missed 2 games in the last 10 years. Marshall hasn't missed any games since he turned his life around, can only assume his conditioning has gone along with that. This year, he signed Allen, Mundy, and Houston. Allen has missed 2 games in 10 years. Houston and Mundy have never missed a game in 9 combined seasons. Even the draft picks are guys that have been healthy in college. That's not to say these guys will play all 16, but the odds are in favor of a lot of the guys. Plus, the Bears are more equipped to handle injuries or guys not at 100% like Peppers and Tillman were most of the season.
