  1. In Non-Penn State news, The National Championship game is being played tonight. I'm excited, but I was excited about last years game and my emotions got served. I have a feeling that USC will roll, but honestly these teams haven't played in so long that anything is possible. Honestly, I'm really just excited to watch Reggie Bush. That dude makes me question reality, Matrix style. They showed his High School highlights on SC Monday night and I had to change my underpants afterwards. They said when Rick Neuheisel saw that tape of his HS highlights, he thought it was fake. Really, I have no horse in the race (other than watching Mr. Bush) so I am really hoping that it lives up to the hype.
  2. I agree. If it wasn't for the Bears scoring more points than the Bucs, they would have lost that game.
  3. Yep, and the option to swap first round picks with NY in the 2007 draft too. Holy smokes, that's wonderful.
  4. We have the Knicks first rounder this year, right?
  5. You may get more than you want. But probably won't. Go Bucs!
  6. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BUCS!
  7. the thing is, we have no idea how far the steroid scandal goes. i doubt we can trust any modern record at this point. Very true. In regards to Sammy, when I saw that he had corked his bat I thought, "If he would do this, how far could he take it to get an edge?" Throw in the circumstancial evidence and his historic decline in production, I am leaning in one direction in regards to Sammy. Just my personal opinion. Right or wrong, it's tainted my view of his past success.
  8. Wow, and I thought I was a homer before I read this thread.
  9. Sammy getting caught with the corked bat and the incidents after really put me off Sammy. I enjoyed his amazing seasons, but looking back, I sincerely doubt their ligitmacy. I was willing to give him the benifit of the doubt on the Steroid's issue up until he got caught corking, but that incident really hurt his credibility with me. Sorry, but some of the mystique that was Sammy has faded with me.
  10. I like the idea of signing guys early before they get a chance to get big money, but $4m up front for a backup guard? I know Chelios showed that a star athlete can play well without an ACL. But he was in great shape. How will a fat offensive lineman with the comfort of guaranteed money hold up? The offensive line depth is a real concern for me. They are extremely thin and old at the tackle spots, and need to look for help in the draft. Maybe he isn't going to be a backup guard. Perhaps they are going to let Metcalf go and start Garza at right guard. I'm pretty sure that's what's going to happen. Garza is a swing guard and backup center. That alone makes him valuable. He's also fairly young. I don't think it's a bad deal cap wise. Other than a few stupid penalties, he's played well this season. Not a bad deal, IMO.
  11. Jeez. I forgot what a manchild Adrian Peterson is when he's healthy.
  12. I'm certainly not sleeping on Wisconsin. I love Bo Ryan, and the way they play ball. I think the talent gap is too much though and can't see them finishing ahead of MSU or Illinois. I don't want to see them in the Big 10 tourney, and if I was a fan of another conference, I'd certainly dread seeing them in my regional come tourney time. Granted, I'm a homer, but I don't that the talent gap is as big as people assume. Tucker is extremely talented and Butch was a McD's All-American. Kamron Taylor (AKA Chris Rock) is emerging. Even if I'm incorrect about the talent gap, Wisconsin hasn't had too much trouble competing with Illinois and MSU since Ryan has been there. I think the Big Ten is going to be a bloodbath this year. I think it's going to be a close race between a bunch of teams. Best of luck to everyone. Hopefully their isn't any injuries.
  13. The question is, if this is such a good deal for the O's (and I think it's obvious that it is) why haven't they pulled the trigger?
  14. fixed. whatever. the bulls aren't going anywhere until they get rid of skiles. I think they wont go anywhere until they get rid of all the players who don't disserve to be on an NBA roster. Also, I would agree that it would help is Skiles wouldn't give guys like Songalia and Pargo 18 and 15 mpg respectively. Perhaps a competant big man, or a guard over 6'2'' would help. They have lots of money to spend next year, but it's pretty clear they aren't going anywhere with this roster, this year.
  15. Everyone is sleeping on Wisconsin in the Big Ten race. Bo Ryan's a good coach and they have only lost at home once since he's been there (In Big Ten play). I'm not saying they are going to win, but they have a pretty good shot to make some noise.
  16. Everyone is bagging on Eli Manning yet his decision likely saved his career. How Philip Rivers doing lately? 8 career passing attempts in 2 years from the 4th overall pick? It doesn't look likely that'll change either unless he orchestrates some trade. The best case scenario is he starts as essentially a rookie at age 25ish. Maybe it was a prissy move by Eli, but he sure came out smelling like roses. *edited*
  17. He should've taken more.
  18. From Jason Whitlock's column on espn's Page 2:
  19. Tommie Harris is fabulous. I'm really glad to see Brown and Briggs in there. It's interesting to see who was leading the fan vote and then see who actually made the team. It's a good indication of who the Coach's and Players think are disserving.
  20. FYI that's Mike Brown not Alex Brown. If there was any confusion.
  21. 6 Pro Bowlers for the Bears. Urlacher Vasher Kruetz Mike Brown Briggs Tommie Harris http://www.chicagobears.com
  22. I think it was because Urlacher tossed his legs off of him when he was finished.
  23. Thomas Jones has small arms.
