  1. Tucker's effectiveFG% is 45%, 51st of 60 qualified Big 10 players. Only Krabbenhoft is worse on UW. He's 57th of 60 in PPWS, worst on his team. Thanks for this site, by the way. It's pretty flawless.
  2. FYI, Mel Kiper has Davis projected going #11 to STL. The Bears would have to move up @ least 15 spots to have a chance @ him, if these projections held true. He also has Pope going to the Bears @ #26. I doubt the Bears would move that far up in the draft. It would cost them too much. TE is supposedly one of the deeper positions in this draft. Kiper is usually pretty inaccurate until it gets close to the draft. I don't think that Davis is going to go that high. Davis will go that high or even higher.
  3. Can Tim make a filter that changes any baseball player in MLB's name automatically to "Dunn?" He could also possibly include a "Reds" to "Dunns" filter as well.

Tucker's Free Throw shooting has been horrendous of late. I agree. I wasn't aware that was being taken into consideration when discussing "rim denting." He says that the plasty face thing he is wearing throws him off at the line. Whether or not that's true or not I'm not sure. I'd venture to guess it has more to do with his completely touchless and arcless shot.
  5. I'm not really sure what that guy is talking about regarding "prolific rim denting" by Tucker. Before going 2-18 last game he was shooting 46% which is pretty respectible and in line with the Agers and Shannon Browns of the world. By no means is he a great shooter, but to call him a prolific rim denter that the rest of the team must make up for is a pretty absurd statement. Edit: In fact, Tucker shoots right around the team average.
  6. North Dakota St. was scheduled to be humiliated by Wisconsin on Saturday. They're without Landry for the rest of the year, and Stiesma will be in his first game back. If they can do what ND St. did, pack the lane and force them to beat you from further away, they may have a chance. I agree. If Penn State can hold the Badgers to 22% from the floor they should be in good shape. Haha, well obviously a huge factor was that UW was awful from the field, and Penn State is a better team than ND State. Big Ten Wonk is more articulate than I: "Here it was: Wisconsin's reductio ad absurdum. Alando Tucker takes more shots than any other Badger and Tucker misses a ton of shots: QED, Wisconsin misses a ton of shots, right? Well, no, not really. At least not until Saturday. UW had managed to transcend Tucker's prolific rim-denting and put points on the board because, like industrious subordinates covering for an incompetent boss, the non-Tucker Badgers had proven to be notably efficient in translating shots into points." The point is that this is the extreme of one end of the spectrum, but considering that there was a bit of a gameplan(the aforementioned packing of the lane) that led to this type of shooting, and the fact that the team was/is relying on good/great shooting to cover Tucker's inefficiencies, it's not that far out of the question for Wisconsin to have another poor shooting night if a similar strategy is employed. Not 22% bad, but enough that a team like PSU(who again is better than ND St.) could hang with and possibly upset UW. All of that analysis sounds great. The fact is Wiconsin has lost 1 Big Ten home game since Bo has been there and it was to an undefeated Illini team. The chances of them losing back to back home games to Penn State and North Dakota State are about the same as the Cubs outfield collectively hitting 120 homeruns.

  8. Stunning and embarrasing loss by Wisconsin. It's going to be pretty tough to recover from.
  9. I think somebody will offer something, but it might not be worth it for them to take and suffer the cap hit from a trade. I just think they wanted to prove a point with TO, and didn't think it would go as far as it did. They didn't want him signing with a rival midseason, when they were still fighting for a spot. Now that time has passed, I think they would be more than happy to simply cut him, and I've read numerous "experts" who also think he'll be released after March 1. It will be interesting to see. The Eagles were the team with the most money under the cap last year and usualy do not spend all the way up to the cap. I think if someone offers some picks they'd take the hit as they probably wouldn't spend that money anyway. I'd love TO on the Bears.
  10. i don't know how the cap restrictions work, but i'd bet he could be had for a draft pick. and since philly is in a terrible negotiating spot, it probably wouldn't even have to be a high pick. I have a sneaking suspicion that Benson could be the chip. Eagles need some sort of "pounding" back since the lack that in Westbrook. I think we'd have to rework or give him a new contract. The Bears would take a huge cap hit if they trade Benson. I don't think they should trade anything for TO, because I think Philly will end up releasing him anyway. But they might be better off trading Thomas Jones instead, although Philly just spent big on Westbrook this year. I wasn't aware of Benson's cap hit if traded. Seemed like a good fit. You don't think anyone will offer the Eagles anything? Even if the Eagles get a 6th round pick it's better than just releasing him. I think many teams would offer at least something for him. The Eagles are notoriously miserly, I think they won't cut him and get nothing or they would have done so already.

  12. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=citadel-2_491068_25&prov=citadel&type=story Semi-confirmed. Wouldn't Owens have to be traded for? Who would we give for him?
  13. i think moose is a great 2nd receiver, and if TO was brought in, he'd be very successful. I agree that Moose is a great possesion receiver. TO and Moose would compliment each other very well.
  14. Well that could be.......interesting. You haven't heard it yourself, so is this coming from another message board? I dont know if it's true or not but I just cant see the Bears making this move. That's what my "Bears." post said before I edited it. I was hearing mixed opinions on whether or not that was true so I edited it. If true, I'm not sure what to think. At least Jerry is exploring all options. \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ i've hated TO in the past, but i think that the bears would approach with caution, keeping him at arms length if they reach an agreement with him. the big mistake that people have been making with TO is letting him be friends with everyone. that's the mistake the eagles made, at aleast. bring him in, lay out ground rules for him, let him know that the first time a rule is violated he'll be released, and make sure the cap hit would be minimal. If that's the case then I agree, bring him in. His impact to our offense would be simply staggering. Moose on one side and him on the other would be a fearsome combo.

  16. Oh man, that was something. I think NSBB just nearly imploded with that. I was just in disbelief. I was about to bring that up! I was thinking, "Hahaha! The Cards just got served by Neifi fricken Perez!!!"
  17. Bears.
  18. Didn't she also once get into a shouting match with a player on the court?

  20. I remember tha Badgers getting hosed by this 2 years ago.
  21. I think Harris isn't fast enough to be nickle back. His best qualities, hitting like a freight train and being a ball hawk are best used at Saftey. I thought Harris played extremely well and most of his deficencies were rookish things like being out of position and poor recognition leading him to show up a little late at times.
  22. Heath Miller grades out similarly to these players and he has had a very large impact to the Steelers this year once incorporated into the offense. He torched the Colts in the first half on Sunday. Their passing game had more impact (albiet slightly) than last year despite losing their second most productive receiver and injuries to Big Ben. Was this due in some part to Ben's continual development? Sure, but you can not underestimate the impact that Miller has had on that offense. I think a pass catching TE would add a much needed dimention to this team. Simply put, our TE's are a black hole and pose almost no threat to to anyone in any situation. In my mind that's the place where our offense can be improved instantly. I guess we'll agree to disagree here. This is a good/deep TE draft and I wouldn't be upset if we picked one in the first or second round. Agreed. but are any of the TEs projected in the first round the same caliber player as miller? I would say that (This is pretty preliminary considering no one has worked out yet) that Vernon Davis grades higher than Miller and Pope, Lewis and Fasano are around Miller's range. Higher or lower depending who you talk to. I don't think Fasano grades out Miller's range, but yeah, I'd rate Davis ahead of Miller and Pope and Marcedes about equal. I also think he's more of a second rounder but I included him because Kiper has him being picked directly after us and ahead of where Miller was picked last year.
