  1. I know this isn't Bears news, but it effects us a little. John Clayton is reporting that the Lions have offered the 9th overall pick to the Jets for John Abraham and a 3rd rounder.
  2. Wow, if this is true, he was puting a ridiculous amount of stuff in his body.
  3. It's on the front page of CNNSI. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/baseball/mlb/03/06/news.excerpt/index.html
  4. The Bears have gotten good CB much later than where they are now. A "plug and play" CB isn't going to be any better than what they have now. I can't find the quote, but I think that Angelo said recently that he has always found CB's in the draft and he thinks that is the best place to find them them. In light of that, I don't think we'll be signing any FA CB's.
  5. Rivera Disagrees. Personally, I think Tillman's a pretty good corner. He does have trouble with the speedy guys and heasn't done as well since the contact rules were inforced. There are a lot of good Corners in this draft so I am down with taking one in the first or second round. Azumah might retire and we need a good replacement. I didn't see any double team, they were in the typical Cover 2. There was a clear difference between how Seattle handled Smith and how the Bears did. Rivera's explanation is reasonable. You may not have seen the double team because when Tillman fell down, Smith changed the route and went deep. You can see Tillman peaking into the backfield on that play and he fell down. It was a particualrly bad play by Tillman against one of the league's best. Not much Rivera can do about that. I'm not saying this is surely the case, but I am giving Rivera the benefit of the doubt. Considering we lost Brown on that play and Thompson was on the field for the other TD, I can't put all the blame on Rivera for Smith's explosion. I think he diserves some blame for the substituions, which were confusing and awful.
  6. A very long conversation with an Oakland Trib reporter about Frank Thomas' injury history. Oh...nevermind then. :|
  7. Fixed.
  8. That doesn't account for the other handful of times it happened, though. On both TD's by Smith the CB fell down. It's pretty hard to scheme for that. Also, I beleive that Tillman had the pick on the other long play, but Harris knocked him and he lost it. I'm not saying Rivera should be without blame, but it's pretty hard to scheme for the things that happened. If Rivera truely had planned for Smith to be doubled most of the time, that is. Tillman is good enough that if he wasn't replaced, I wouldn't be worried going into next season. Saftey may be the better position for him when all is said and done but the Bears secondary was excellent last year and Tillman was the #1 CB. He can't be as bad as everyone is making him out to be. He is also an excellent tackler.
  9. Ok so, the beef here is that Prior isn't throwing to batters yet? He' still throwing but not to batters, is this right? If he's still throwing, I'm confused about how not throwing to batters means that he's unhealthy. Honest question.

  11. Your stats on Law are incorrect. Law lead the league in interceptions with 10 last year. Law's 2005 stats: Games:16 Tackles: 62 Int:10 TD's:1
  12. I'm not too worried about this.
  13. The pinstripes rule. Anyone who wants to get rid of them is an enemy of freedom.
  14. I'm crying and laughing at the same time.
  15. Holy crap! Barry Bonds in enourmous!
  16. Defensive Backs in Group 11:
  17. Goony, the more I think about it, the more I agree with you. Other than Davis, there is no real standout TE. Pope seems the best of the next large group, but not by much and not enough to warrent a first round pick. I think we could get a pretty decent TE (If we even draft one, which I'm not entirely sure we will anymore) in the 2nd or 3rd. We are really in a good position in the draft and from what I have heard (about who we are talking to etc.) I see us taking CB's and WR's before TE now. I know we've talked to: Devin Hester I know we've talked to Chad Jackson and S. Moss. It looks like we are looking for more speed. I also am getting the feeling that we aren't going to go after Randall El if the pricetag is too high. I'm happy about that. Honestly, I have no idea what we are going to do.
  18. I guess Byrd didn't run at the combine.
  19. Who whole FIB thing is bizarre and is born mostly out of some inferiority complex that plagues Wisconsiners. At least this is what I noticed when I went to UW Madison. I even did a research project on it in my Anthro class. Ha!
  20. I think he did the 225 bench 33 times also, which is ridiculous.
  21. Haven't seen anything yet. I'll post them when I see them.
