  1. I would not be suprised either. They always play ND well, and ND has always found a way to let me down (much like the Cubs). However as Lou Holtz once said (and I paraphrase) when MSU stuck a flag in the ground against ND while he was there "the next time will be a flag saying we surrender." ND then beat MSU 8 straight times.
  2. Which only takes about 7 wins for ND, right? I wish it were still that way. Instead they have to have a good record now. I guess its one of the disadvantages of not being in a conference.
  3. I finally have season tickets to the Irish that I can use every game (don't have to share with other family members) so I am very excited about that. Also going to be in Baltimore during the Navy game so I may try to make that as well. I really can't remember the last time I have been this excited about ND. However, I know they will find some way to lose a few games; but hopefully they can make it to another BCS game. Georgia Tech has me a little nervous as does PSU and Michigan. I think this may be the year ND finally beats USC. Also hope the they kill MSU. A little revenge for the flag planting. Besides Quinn and Peterson, who else has a shot at the Heisman? Can't think of anyone off hand. Perhaps the WR from GT?
  4. Didn't watch the game. What was the tirade? If you didn't watch the game, you won't be able to appreciate the things that were said nearly as much. There have been a lot of bad games this year, but the Sunday game ranks #1 in futility. Todd Walker and Phil Nevin stood motionless as a ball slowly skipped right between them into RF. Since neither player touched the ball, an error was not charged. However, it should have been a double error. The Jacque Jones throw to Henry Blanco should not have been charged as an error to Jacque, but it was anyway. It was a short hop (first bounce) about a foot in front of Blanco's glove. Since this is about the first time Jacque got a ball to roll all the way to the catcher this year, it's a shame that he got charged for an error. Murton had a line drive base hit smack him in the bread basket, which allowed 2 runners to take an extra base. Juan Pierre threw a ball home from shallow centerfield that couldn't even clear the mound. Neifi botched what should have been an easy double play. Not only did he bobble the ball, but he was backing up rather than attacking the ball. Neifi tossed a ball at Aramis sidearmed/underhand that was nowhere near the mark, which allowed a runner to score and everyone else to be safe and move up a base. If that wasn't enough, the Cubs bats were shut out by +5 ERA junkballer, Brad Radke. All of this on the day that Derrek Lee returned. The day that everyone seemed to be waiting for. There was no fire. There was no care. Everyone was a zombie out there, proving that whether Derrek is in the line up or not, this team is not going anywhere. We didn't need this proof, but apparently Hendry and Dusty did. Worst game of the year in a year full of horrible games should have been the final bell for Hendry and his cronies. A knockout punch was scored that day, but instead of a 10 count, Hendry is getting a 50,000 count. Let's give Hendry another extension today. Let's make it lifelong. It makes about as much sense as the last extension. Wow. Thanks for the recap, and I sure am glad I missed this game. I can't remember the last time a team has lacked fundamentals the way this team does.
  5. Didn't watch the game. What was the tirade?
  6. What about Bloom at Colorado? He made money of skiing, and couldn't play football. Also Zibby has a boxing agent.
  7. I missed the game today. How did Beasley do? Read the last two pages. dmb = DeMarcus Beasley = not exactly collecting the compliments So did the rest of America. Yea, I saw all of that after I posted my question. Didn't have time to go back and edit my original post. The rest of America played their youth soccer with him as well, or they all wanted to see him play?
  8. I missed the game today. How did Beasley do? I played HS soccer with him, and really wanted to see him play today.
  9. Just out of curiosity, what would everyone do (beside the obvious firings and releases). You first, what are the "obvious" firings and releases? We got to know what you think the obvious ones are so we don't name those. :D I would say that Dusty, Neifi, Bynum, Hendry, and Rusch are all obvious.

  11. This is so very true. I loathe guy, but he's such a "smart jerk." When did he play for the Wizards? I have no recollection of that, but there was a season or two where I didn't follow them that much.
  12. i thought len or hawk had said that, odd as it was, there were no pre-game warnings after z hit iguchi. Whoa, I completely missed something today. I took a little nap during the game, and have no clue that any of this happened. Details? basically aj hit a solo shot off of z, and he must have said something to carlos while rounding the bases because carlos started yelling in the direction of either aj/sox bench/joey cora @ 3rd while doing the whole two fingers in his eyes then two fingers towards his eyes like 'look at me' thing. then aj, after crossing the plate, kissed his hand and pointed to the sky ala carlos, and ozzie ran out to say something, who knows what. it was funny because for a second, carlos settled down after it quite well, it made me think that ozzie may have better control over the cubs than baker does. ha. Wow, thanks. I had no clue that happened. Anyone have a video link? AJ is a complete a**.

  14. did D. Lee really get suspended?? I kinda doubt it since it wasn't mentioned in the original report. WSI is worthless. Didn't Gagne get suspended for the same thing a few years ago?
  15. did D. Lee really get suspended?? I heard that he did, but I have not seen it in writting yet. I do think he will be though for coming on the field while not on the 25 man roster.
  16. Did Contreras run on the field yesterday? I thought he did, and since he was on the DL would it be safe to assume he will get 5 games also?
  17. ESPN News has already shown it twice, and they are showing AJ talking about it right now.
  18. What did Ozzie say?
  19. Sure, but it was very infrequent, and when they did it they'd run off like little school boys and run to the bathroom in the studio and light up. I've read numerous books on them, they'd generally wait till they got home to light up. I have read quite a few books as well. Didn't they say they would 'go have a laugh?' I thought you had written that they never did drugs in the studio. Misunderstanding on my part.
  20. How little you obviously know on the subject. No offense. There is only one instance in the ENTIRE Beatles recording sessions over 7 years where one of them was on LSD. That was Lennon who was promptly dismissed by the producer. It seems like a lot of Beatles fans deny their drug use for some reason. Deny it nothing. They did marijuana, cocaine, heroin, lsd. But NOT in the studio. How is that sooo difficult to believe. No doubt it had an influence on their lives and the lyrics they wrote. However, everything they did IN the studio, especially with sgt. pepper, was sober and changed the way people made music forever. They spent 15 hours a day in the studio making their records. To try and downplay their creativity as music makers is ludicrous. There are reasons why Music Schools have entire classes devoted to the study of the Beatles. Did you know that they invented distortion on guitars? Did you know that they were the first to ever play backwards loops, which is so frequently used now. Did you know they were the first band to use sampling i.e. Puff Daddy. They did smoke marijuana in the studio.
  21. Did you not learn anything from this thread?
  22. ARRGGHH, I hate stupid 35 page papers (plus my procrastination) that make me get rid of tickets to games like these. The game on Memorial Day will hopefully be even better, to make up for this.
  23. Ok, I am at the library and can't watch the game, plus I am trying to forget the fact that I pretty much gave away my tickets for the game. Anyway, I am short on time, and I can't read through the whole thread right now. Will someone please give me a quick update, and I will check back in a few minutes. Thanks in advance.
  24. What month was that in, June? I remember being on vacation and not being able to get any scores, and when I finally got to a paper, I found out they had been on a tear. Nice way to end a vacation.
  25. I really hope they do!!
