  1. To bad it doesn't count.
  2. I agree 100%
  3. One of the things I've always disliked about Florida St players is that always run out of bounds with the ball.....well not always but you know what I mean. They run out of bounds yards before contact, they have no heart. That is something that more and more teams are doing. Weis has told his players to do the same. Walker does it all the time. I have seen Bush do it quite a bit as well, with USC and the Saints.
  4. How many times can they mention that Hoffman is sitting in the pen, and not warming up in one half of an inning?
  5. NDistops: The BC series was actually abandoned because they left the Big East. That is why they are called Fredo on NDnation. Although I am sure that tearing up the locker room and the field didn't help that at all.
  6. Of course, right now they are suspended from playing even at Stanford. You see, that's something I should have already known. That's pretty darn bad right there. Then again, that's not the only team to rub ND the wrong way in recent years. Heck, the entire BC series has been called off (at least for now) because of the Eagles trashing ND's visitor locker rooms the last couple of visits. BC series is back on as of next year through at least 2010. The band also mocked the potato famine and the Irish and Catholic culture in general. They were originally banned from playing at ND, but now are not allowed to enter the stadium when ND visits Stanford, due to further mockery of Irish and Catholics. That ban at Stanford may be over now. Also the urinating was not done by the whole band, just a few members after the game in the corner off the field. Was kind of blown out of proportion. Here is an older article about it. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/1997/10/15/MN69409.DTL
  7. I will be there as well. You tailgating? I have never been to a Stanford game there before, and it will be nice not to hear an opposing band and have more ND fans in there. I was supposed to be at the 'Cuse game, but I can't go now (long story) so but I think the ND game is a nice replacement. I don't know if my dad (who's taking me) is tailgating, but I know we'll be wandering through the tailgate areas. I went to the 1998 Stanford game and I don't remember seeing hardly any Cardinal fans there. I think a lot of it has to do with the Band being banned. The opposing teams band section is taken up by alumni band members, and I would imagine that would cut down on a good majority of Stanford fans, since I think it limits their ticket availiblity as well.

  9. They DESERVED one loss to OU, but Oregon is undefeated. Vance knows that, he (and many others) are just operating under the assumption that Oregon has a loss. Since the polls are all based on opinions, I'm operating on the opinion that Oregon has one loss and therfore will rank other one loss teams ahead of them, in my opinion. Unfortunatly in the Coach's poll that will not apply. All they (most of them) do is have an assistant look at scores and records and make a vote. Or vote for their team no matter how bad. I often wonder why so many teams get only one vote for the top 25, and some of them even have losing records. I think the whole system is flawed, but the Coach's is worse than anything.
  10. BYU ended TCU's winning streak tonight. Who has the longest streak now?
  11. If Texas runs the table that will boost OSU's strength of schedule and the computer will like that. SOS is not used anymore in the BCS formula. http://cbs.sportsline.com/collegefootball/story/7499505 Aren't the SOS's part of the computers rankings? Yes, that's why they stopped using it in the BCS, so it wouldn't be double-counted. And it is interesting to note that this year, Sagarin has ND SOS as #1. I am sure that will change in the next few weeks though.
  12. On the other hand, wasn't their inability to run the ball early in those games part of the reason for those early deficits? Well, I didn't see the first half of MSU, but the first half of Michigan had a lot more to do with turnovers (3 of them in the 1st half, all of them in ND's territory) than running the football. From what I hear, Brady Quinn being off had more to do with ND falling behind early to MSU than anything. I read that Aldridge will be playing this weekend. However I agree with with ND, the running game is not a problem. What is a problem is getting killed in the first quarter and not having time to establish the run. They have got to learn to play 60 minutes. Hell I would even be happy with 45 minutes.

  14. The Cubs are still playing?

  16. Did anyone see the pic of MSU guarding the 'S' on the 50 after the game, in case ND decided to show no class? I will try to find it and post it.
  17. All I can say about tonights game is the ND did not win it. MSU lost it.
  18. I couldn't find a thread on this anywhere so I apologize if I missed it. What happened at the Baltimore game last night? I heard in passing that the fans walked out of the game to protest against upper managment. Does anyone have more info on this, or can perhaps steer me towards a thread on it that I overlooked?
  19. Never heard that before. Is that why they did the same thing Holtz's first year? I dunno, that was before my time. Also, some Spartan fans would bet their lives that ND flag planted during one of the last two wins in East Lansing(I don't remember which one), but no pictures of it have been found, just accounts from people at the game. Yea I have heard that ND did too. However there is no proof of it, and you would think that there would be. That is not something that is easily missed by cameras. I really think that is just MSU trying to make excuses for why that acted so classless last year. I really hope ND doesn't do that this Saturday after they win. :D Be careful. I read some bold ND predictions last week as well. But not from me...I don't think. But you are right. I normally assume they will lose anyway, because that is what I have grown to know (much like the Cubs). I just have a feeling they will beat MSU this week.
  20. At minus three, I REALLY like those odds. MINUS 3?? That's [expletive] insane. I don't know how much it matters. When you get to a line that small, it's pretty much a pick'em line. Yeah, Notre Dame is favored, but only by a field goal. I think they'll have no problem winning by more than that. How is ND giving them 3 'pretty much a pick'em'? I am not sure how much you bet on football, but 3 points in anything but a pick'em.

  23. For the record it was MSU's coach who said that Weis said that to alumni. It never happened. On NDNation there was a big thing about it, and all the alumni said there was only one meeting this summer (Westwood One) and that was never mentioned. I think it is being confused with what Holtz said...I paraphrase "MSU planted the flag in our stadium my first year...I made sure they never did that again by beating them 10 times in a row" Good ole Holtz didn't even beat them 10 times in a row. I think it was only 8.
  24. I hate it when officials assume what is going to happen instead of watching it develop. Reminds me of a play in High School. Play Action, our QB fakes the handoff, the RB (without the ball) falls down at the line of scrimmage. The refs blow the play dead, while out QB is passing to a wide open reciever for a game winning touchdown. They had to call the TD back due to the refs not paying attention and blowing the play dead, and we lose the game--not to mention get knocked out of the playoffs.
  25. Some people takes sports WAY to seriously.
