  1. Home field is 3 1/2 points correct? 3, at least in College. Could be different for the NFL.
  2. I wish that logic was applied in '93.
  3. Shawn Wooden!!
  4. So is the Big East this years ND, in the sense that it takes over every thread?
  5. I wouldn't really say the ND won handily in that game.
  6. At least this one has Rutgers over WVU but they have Louisville behind WVU. Plus, Arkansas over Notre Dame. I LOVE IT!! Does the AP poll even mean anything at this point in the season? It doesn't even apply to the BCS.
  7. I believe I read that in "Wheres Harry," and they said the Bud cup was always just full of water.
  8. An article about the Tribune selling the LA Times.
  9. I dunno...individual teams can only appear on prime time 5 times during the season. The Bears will already have 4 (Seattle, Arizona, New York, and St Louis). NBC might want to save that potential 5th game for the last one of the season in case the Bears have a shot at 16-0 or (and probably more importantly in their eyes) Favre retires and it's his last game. I hope they don't. I have tickets to that game, and won't be able to make it if they do. When would that be announced if it were to happen?
  10. To high to bet on the Bears, but I refuse to bet against them. And speaking of betting, I hired a handicapper for 100 a week, and I am 13-1 since then. Good investment if anyone is interested (at least until he goes cold).
  11. I'll be in Vegas... Hopefully, I can find a good sportsbook to go watch it at. LOL. I don't think you'll have too much trouble. Have fun :) Haha.. Thanks... glad you caught the sarcasm. When I was in Vegas a few weeks ago, I couldn't find an open seat in 4 different casinos, and ESPNZone was rented out. Ended up watching the ND game at a dance club in the MGM. Kinda sucked, so make sure you get there very, very early. I also just got tickets to this weeks game!! 5th row 45 yard line. Will be my best seats ever for a Bears game, and my first one this year, so I am super excited.
  12. My group of friends and I probably said that around 100 times tonight watching the game.
  13. I really don't like them doing this. And it really makes what Holtz did look that much more impressive. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12817876/
  14. They are also doing it for alumni. Their schedule is going to be super easy for the next few years. White decided that in order to compete they had to have a schedule filled with a bunch of weak teams.
  15. Coker is suspending 8 players What time does the BCS poll come out?
  16. If this were ND we'd probably still be talking about this in 4 pages, but I expect mine to be one of the last comments made about this. Go Penn State! Why are you rooting against Michigan?
  17. Apparently His dad found out by watching it on TV His wife and child were on the way to Cali when it happened and were being met at the airport by a priest. I can't even imagine what it would be like to learn of your childs death by watching the news.
  18. Ty was like this as well. You couldn't get a straight answer out of him if you asked what he had for lunch this afternoon, so much so that Nick Setta, then-kicker, disappeared from the Notre Dame team after the opening kickoff against Pitt in 2003 and never returned, and so far as I know, no one still knows what happened. (The excuse was a leg injury, but there was never anything to suggest that he was hurt.) Sounds a lot like another team I love...
  19. Projected BCS standings as of today. 1. OSU 2. USC 3. Florida 4. Michigan 5. Louisville 6. ND 7. Tennessee 8. Texas 9. West Virginia 10. Auburn
  20. Georgia was giving up 6 points a contest against Western Kentucky, South Carolina(The barely beating Wofford SC), UAB, Ole Miss, and Colorado. Georgia is not good. And if I remember correctly not scoring much more than 6 a game (which could be wrong). Georgia was barely beating some very weak teams. 48-12 over Western Kentucky 18-0 over South Carolina 34-0 over UAB 14-13 over Colorado 14-9 over Ole Miss Well you just blew that thought to hell. Thanks :D I still stand by my belief that they are not good. EDIT: and for the record the not scoring more than 6 was an obvious exaggeration. However I was suprised to see them put up 48 and 34. I must have never noticed those scores. It was mainly the Colorado and Ole Miss games that stood out in my mind.

  22. What does the ND/Purdue game have to do with any of this? People get mad that ND takes over the threads, yet they are still being mentioned in a debate that involves Florida and OSU--by the non ND fan! I don't think he was trying to take a knock at ND. ND was the only other ranked team to play Purdue this year, and Purdue looks to be Iowa's best win thus far, so he was attempting to compare the two. Not that that would matter cause the SEC crew has ND finishing 6th in the SEC this year. I don't care if he was trying to say anything bad about ND. There are plenty of bad things to say about them at this point. I just didn't see how that was relevant to anything in the discussion they were having. Perhaps I just misunderstood it. My apologies if so.

  24. We beat USC last season with Bush and Leinert on the team. (Yes, we beat them. Bush's illegal move at the end gave USC a win they didn't earn.) What about this USC team makes you think they are so great? As big as a ND fan that I am, I still see no problem with that play. USC beat ND. It was illegal, but I have seen it happen many, many times; and never be called. Weis even said he would have expected his players to do the same thing. And if ND can find a way to show up for a whole game, the USC game could be very, very good. However if they come out flat, it will be over before the half.
