  1. Look at few posts up  Great news, however. Right now ND is #1 in recruiting for QB, RB, and OL, #3 in DB, and TE, #9 at WR, and #12 at LB. It makes me very happy that Weis can recruit. Also Young did room with Gallup, who had commited to ND already. However other schools did have the same set-up. It is not all that uncommon. McNeil, who just commited to Florida, was roomed with Griffen, who was a Florida commit already. I assume you're talking about Raeshon McNeil the Notre Dame commit? I saw where he is taking his visit to Florida but didn't see anywhere that he decommitted from ND. I just assumed he was going to partake in the "gator getters" and that southern hospitality, or did he officially decommit? Kevin McNeil. I meant FSU, sorry

  3. I assume you're referring to Sam Young, who commited to ND, over USC :D
  4. Not a lot of baseball signatures, Dawson, Grace, Conseco, and Jodi Davis on baseballs. Kent on a mini-bat. Every ND team from 88-96 (I think, could be 97), many of them personalized to me, which is very nice. Almost every QB from the 86 NFL season. (my dad attended a QB club meeting in DC, on accident.) McMahon, Montana, Jaws, Marjowski (I think that was the GB QB,) Simms, etc... And my most prized possession: A David Hasselhoff signature, on a picture of me sitting in Kit, no less.
  5. ND was set to reoffer if Jones was willing to switch to WR, which may happen anyway, due to his shoulder injury. Rivals had him listed as being reoffered by ND, but that was inaccurate. However if Jones was definately going to be switched, the offer would have immediately been on the table, per the South Bend Tribune. EDIT: Todays SBT quoted Jones as saying he will definately be playing QB for ND, and his shoulder is around 85%
  6. I haven't read this whole thread, and am just now to the point where I want to talk about the game. My only problem is what seemed to be an overconfidence in Grossman. He had, I think, 41 pass attempts, and Jones only had 20 rushes? Had they stuck with the running game, controlled the clock, and kept Smith off the field, this game could have turned out differently. Also why in the world was Thompson on Smith, with no help from a safety? I saw a stat that said the Bears average 3rd down attempt was 7+ yards. That is just ridiculous. Jones averaged 4 yards a rush, and they only average 3 yards on their first two downs. That doesn't make sense.
  7. If Jones will move from QB, then there will be room. Not very likely, but the only way it will happen, IMO. As long as ND doesn't have to pull a scholarship, I would love to see ND get Mustain. Rumor is that not only is Mustain leaning heavy toward Arkansas, but he may influence some of his high school teammates that way. TE/LB Ben Cleveland already changed his commitment from Florida to Arkansas, and coaches are to talk with WR Damian Williams soon. Mustain already commited to Arkansas, then decomitted, after they fired the coach who recruited him, in order to hire his HS coach. This was also after Cutcliffe went to Tennesse, whom Mustain has wanted to play under for some time. Yes, that was addressed earlier in the thread. I'm talking about new developments. Interesting. I haven't heard anything else about him going back to Arkansas. I would be suprised if he did, but anything can happen. Notre Dame did make an official offer, which I am not to crazy about. If I had to put money on it, I would say he becomes a Volunteer.

  10. I would love to see the Patriots win, and then beat Indy. I am real torn on this whole Indy thing. I hate them, a lot, but if they go to the SB, so do I. It is a very tough situation.
  11. If New England wins, will they go to Indy?
  12. Any news on what Gerald McCoy will do? ND is really going after him, and it is down to them and OK from what I read. Nevermind. McCoy just eliminated ND. Now is OU, USC, or LSU
  13. He is the #3 CB. Darrin Walls is #1, and he commited to ND. link EDIT:Well if you click on each person, it has #1 and #3 switched. Weird, I wonder which way it is? Walls was #3 until he picked ND. Upon seeing how he'd made the best possible decision, his ranking was augmented. Actually he was number one, then dropped to three. Obviously someone forgot the rules.
  14. They could greatly improve that team, by trading away their pick. I agree, they are a stupid organization.

  16. Are you sure your brain doesn't just register all proper nouns as "Notre Dame" LOL, you may be right. Cpatt: Just because I am a Cubs fan does not mean it makes any more sense to me. I still find it baffling, just as I always have. Should've said you should be used to it, not that you understand it. Inferiority complexes work in mysterious ways. Very true.

  18. 1270- that is the number of registered users on a USC board right now. And for some reason they are already talking about ND coming out there next year, and the rivalry between the two. They just lost the NC game, and every few posts mentions ND. I really don't get it.
  19. So did anyone hear ESPN say Texas is #1 in the only poll that "really matters"? Were they reffering to the BCS? If so, that is very interesting, seeing as how ESPN has completely ignored the fact that the BCS is the only poll that matters, whenever they talked about a USC threepeat.
  20. It won't. They very rarely do.
  21. You are biased. While a 3OT game is typically "exciting", I'm sure there are many other more accurate ways to describe it. The Sugar Bowl was exciting. This was a battle of futility. To me it was more of an excitement due to the anticipation of which team would screw up more. I'm sure it would be different if I was a fan of either team. I feel the same way. It wasn't really a good game, just an entertaining game.
  22. If Minter will still be there, the D will still struggle. I was never very impressed with him under Holtz, and still am not. He is not the only problem with the D, but he does not help things. They secondary was terrible this year. All OSU did was make deep passes, that no other team could seem to do this year (overthrows, wrong routes, underthrows, etc...), and use their speed to completely expose the ineptness of the D.
  23. I just read that PSU has 15 5th year starters, and Paul Poz may be leaving early. Any PSU fans know how they will look next year, with that many experienced players leaving? Do they have good back-ups players to fill in?
  24. Reminds me of Ron Powlus. I think he was predicted to win the Heisman all 4 years. That really panned out. Two reasons why I don't get overly excited about recruiting class ranks. They really can't be graded until at least two years down the road, IMO
  25. The flaw in this comparison is Troy Smith did not play against Texas. Not only that but lately OSU installed more of a spread offense. What you saw yesterday was not the same team that Texas saw the first game. ND's defense did get whooped worse by OSU offense than they did USC's. Texas has as good an offense as OSU. They should score some against USC defense. What QB played for Ohio State? Justin Zwick. (he sucks) IIRC, SMith was still suspended for accepting 500 from a booster the previous season.
