  1. That illegal block on Ginns reverse was pretty blatant. My roommates, who hate ND, where even saying that ND got screwed on the play. However I will not look at the refs for making a difference in this game. ND got outplayed, no other way around it. No ifs or buts, it was a hell of a season, especially for one that was supposed to be rebuilding. ND is back, and they will be a consistent top 10 team for years to come, IMO. This college season has been more enjoyable than any I can remember in the last 5 years.
  2. Miami (OH) Texas San Diego State Iowa Penn State Michigan State Indiana Minnesota Illinois Northwestern Michigan These teams all held OSU to less the 600 yards. I don't think it was the talent on ND's D last night, it was the coaching. Minter was outwitted (again) and Tressel had his team prepared to play. I tip my hat to OSU. Good game, and OSU fans, you have a lot to look forward to next year.
  3. Ahh, he has to wait until after his junior year, right?
  4. Oregon has done nothing to prove they deserved it more than ND. There should be no more discussion about that, as both teams fell flat in their respective games, and OSU dominated, showing they belonged. Pointless bump, IMO.
  5. Hunter Cantwell did a great job for Louisville...he's about as tough as they come. What a way to step up in a pressure situation. And Marcus Vick is a punk with absolutely no class. How can everyone in the world see him stomp his cleat into Dumervil's calf but none of the officials did? What a loser...... He just got out of prison so maybe he thought Dumervil was going to take his smokes? I can't believe Syracuse knocked your QB out for the year. :x Just got out of prison...? News to me. Next years premature top 5, on ESPN OSU Texas ND USC Florida Next year is going to be very competitive for the Championship game. WV isn't losing anyone and I think they and LSU should be in the mix too. I think it might depend on who has the weakest schedule. What year is Leak? I think that might be a weak spot for Florida next year if he leaves. Yeah, that system wasn't really great for him but he was a pretty goo QB. Leak is a Junior. Also Florida has arguably the best QB recruit coming in next year, along with 2 top recievers. Their incoming class is pretty damn good. Holmes announced he is going to the NFL, hopefully Ginn will too. Those two are fast; very, very, fast.

  7. They won't be in it next year, and no reasonable fan really feels that way (sorry NDistops). They have recruited some great defenders (2 of the top 13 CBs), but there is no telling how they will turn out. All year long their achilles heel has been their secondary, and OSU exposed that tonight, something I am suprised has not happened as often this year. If, and it is a big if, the recruits can live up to their potential, and the offense stays as productive as it was this year, which should happen, ND will be a top 5 team next year. However they WILL NOT be playing for a championship until at least 2007, when their schedule softens up a bit, and that is being very generous. Next years schedule will be brutal, as of now. I'm sure not every team will turn out as tough, but they will probably lose 1-3 games next year.
  8. Hopefully ND can make some adjustments at the half...such as developing speed in the secondary. OSU is just too fast, way to fast.
  9. I would like to mention that I had Fiesta Bowl tickets, but could not afford the flight, or hotel rooms. I was not very happy.
  10. Carpenter is unlikely to dress for the game, per Tressel in the Press Conference. Also Weis said, obviously jokingly, that Laura Quinn (Hawk's gf) has given them a lot of good information on OSU.
  11. that would be Nike. I dont know wtf theyre thinking either. The pass interference call, I could go either way on. The one that I thought was mindblowingly terrible was the "AD fumble at the goal line" where he was stopped, rolled completely over, and then had the ball stripped. No way he wasn't already down. Oh well, a win is a win is a win. Slight disagreement, Nike only makes the uni, I'm sure they're not in the business of telling college teams what uniforms to wear. Nike makes uniforms for lots of different schools and none of them look as awful as those. Actually Nike does determine what uniform they will wear. It is part of the contract, IIRC. Same thing with VT, and the hideous nike uniforms they had earlier this year.
  12. Only problem is that the AP Poll does not count in NCAA Football, when determing the champion. The BCS does. And even the BCS said they were going for a three-peat during the selection show. I like USC, but I hate the threepeat talk. It is inaccurate.
  13. You're pretty sharp. Could you elaborate please?
  14. I like USC. I think they are a good program, with great talent.
  15. How can you find out what the different numbers mean? My truck is a Mercury, but the Vin starts with a "4".... 4 is US as well. 2 is Canad, 3 is Mexico,J is japan, K is Korea, Germany is W, that is all I remember. The 10th number should tell you what year it was made 88 is J, 89 is K, and so on (skip O, Q, U, and Z, 2001 starts at 1). #s 4-8 tell the body style, engine type, model, etc 2nd digit is manufacturer. I think Mercury is M 11th number tells you what plant iit was assembled at. I think all that is right. It has been a few years since I have had use any of that info. (I used to sell GM and Honda parts in the service dept. of a dealership) If your truck is real old, I don't think any of that applies
  16. Cars I have owned Audi 5000 Ford Ranger Nissan nx1600 Jeep Wrangler Pontiac Grand Prix Cadilliac Deville Buick Park Ave Out of all of those, the one I had the longest was the Nissan. It is also the only car I ever owned that I did not put 1 penny into, aside from regular maintence. Ranger fell apart. Pontiac blew up on highway. Cadillac died in winter, never started again. Buick, just spent $600 on repairs. I worked at a Honda/Pontiac dealership for 2 years, and both makes did have their own problems, and I can offer nothing to say that foreign cars are indeed built better. However, in my experiences, the Nissan was by far the best built car I have ever owned. If I would quit getting deals on domestic cars (all my grandma friends), I would go back to a Nissan in a second.
  17. I did too, but didn't want to admit it As did I. Domestic- car and beer. Car was cheap, so is the beer. I'm broke. However, I drove a nissan for 3 years, and did not have one problem with it, except for the whole getting stolen thing. Prefer foreign, last longer, less problems-based on my experiences (personal and work).
  18. Mustain has narrowed it down to ND, Tennesse, Bama, and Arkansas. link EDIT: So this whole Mustain thing could be bad for ND, if he chooses he wants to go there. Weis has already said that the is only taking 2 QBs, and he already has those, although neither one is on the same level as Mustain. I know that ND has not yet offered him a scholarship, but if they do, one of the QBs could lose their spot, which would look bad for ND, IMO. I really don't know what is better, pass up on a top 3 recruit, or revoke a scholarship. I think I would rather see Weis pass on Mustain, and keep his commitments to the other young men who agreed to come to ND, long before Mustain entered the picture. Of course if one of the other QBs (Jones) will move to WR then all is OK :D
  19. I remember hearing about this, but wondered if it happens a lot. A player was traded for a PTBNL, and the previously traded player, became the PTBNL. I believe it was an Expos player, in the situation I am thinking of.
  20. Purdue signed 9 JUCO players. This would be good for a quick fix, but is it gonna be the right move two or three years down the road? Any opinions Purdue fans?
  21. No love for Konrad Reuland? #2 TE, Konrad Reuland!! Also wanted to point out that Aldridge is enrolled for the spring semester, enabling ND to put him on this years scholorship list; leaving another spot for the fall class. I was gonna say, if you folks don't think highly of him...I'd love to see him replace Marcedes. I will be more than happy to see him wearing an Irish uniform. Does he go to HS near where you live?

  23. Weis is recruiting unlike anyone during the Davieham era did. I have been thoroughly impressed with his efforts.
  24. This may not be the most appropriate thread for this, and if not, I apologize. FoxSports is doing a mock playoff system, using conference winners and at large teams. The first round was simulated today. Kind of interesting, so I thought I would post it. link
  25. This is not what Texas needs right now.
