    yeah, he didn't think he could beat the safety, who was totally turned around on the play. he should have split that gap and taken it to the house. Maybe Hester was analyzing the amount of time left on the clock and realized that the Falcons would just drive right down the field again for the win.

    Average? Average runners don't get less than 2 YPC There isn't a running back alive who could gain any yards with this O-line. It's completely on them. There are Falcon defenders in the backfield before our RB even get the hand off. So how long before Beekman gets a shot at guard? The Bears ran the ball well last year, so Beekman must have at least been respectable. I can't say the same for Omiyale.

    It sure doesn't help build a minor league system when the GM loses out on draft picks by mismanaging arbitration.

    If the organization really does have Sandberg targeted as the next manager, then I'd much prefer they give him a trial run as hitting coach at the major league level rather than just throwing him into the fire in 2011. Either he will do a good job and solidify himself as a managerial candidate, or he won't and the Cubs can decide to look elsewhere.

    I heard Lou on the radio after Colvin's first few games saying "We're probably gonna rest him the rest of the year." I have no idea what the logic was behind that decision.

    I'm honestly fine with either one of them as the 5th starter. We have 4 solid starting pitchers and Gorzellany, Smardzija, and Marshall to compete for the 5th spot. Barring any trades, the focus should really be on the offense and bullpen.
