  1. Going to commercial? Screw you MLB Network!
  2. They're gonna keep using it, but badly dub over that part with the other provider, not unlike this: Maybe they can get Steve Goodman to re-record it? Too soon?
  3. That is true to some degree, but it can also be offset by the increased demand brought by a good team. If all the games are sold out, there will be more people on the rooftops regardless of whether they have an obstruction-free view.
  4. Exactly this. I have been to a couple rooftop parties and very few people are there to sit and watch the game. Even the unobstructed views leave a lot to be desired. Assuming the signs lead to additional revenue which helps the Cubs field a consistently competitive team, the rooftop owners will benefit from the excitement around the team more than they will be harmed by any obstructions.
  5. Is this new or did I just miss it before? I understand there is a definite player safety issue and that justifies the change, but as a fan I will miss being able to clearly see who is warming up at any time.
  6. I dont know why but I decided to torture myself and read some posts from the first few pages of this thread. I don't even know what I was responding to, but upswing and 2014... oh how naive I was.
  7. Playing for 1 run in the first inning... Now that's smart baseball.
  8. And another K in his 3rd at bat. This is getting really depressing.
  9. Yeah, we're still in contention for the pythagorean playoffs.
  10. I've always said the best way to fix a struggling offense is to continually run into outs.
  11. Another shutout, but don't worry because I'm sure the Cubs will win a game 14-2 soon and then immediately go on another extended scoring drought.
  12. That was awkward. What was Renteria doing to Arrieta?
  13. You couldn't possibly have expected more than 4 hits off of Hector Noesi & Crew.
  14. Olt has shown some patience lately, so there's that...
  15. He has a history of injuries, so that may be the biggest reason.
  16. I can't believe Castro didn't beat that throw. I don't see enough to overturn it.
  17. Ok, at least he stayed under 130... now we can send him back out for the 10th!
