That is true to some degree, but it can also be offset by the increased demand brought by a good team. If all the games are sold out, there will be more people on the rooftops regardless of whether they have an obstruction-free view.
Exactly this. I have been to a couple rooftop parties and very few people are there to sit and watch the game. Even the unobstructed views leave a lot to be desired. Assuming the signs lead to additional revenue which helps the Cubs field a consistently competitive team, the rooftop owners will benefit from the excitement around the team more than they will be harmed by any obstructions.
Is this new or did I just miss it before? I understand there is a definite player safety issue and that justifies the change, but as a fan I will miss being able to clearly see who is warming up at any time.
