  2. He better get that figured out now that the Cubs have Babe Coghlan in LF.
  3. But he is also Schlitter's personal catcher.
  4. I always struggled with the pickoff move to third (as a righty). I think my problem was trying to be too deceptive, making it a more difficult throw than it needed to be. Of course I wasn't a very good pitcher to begin with, but I can understand how that particular pickoff move could be more difficult than a standard throw.
  5. I'll take it. Start the 2nd inning without a guaranteed out..
  6. Ouch, this lineup. 3 runs is going to be a stretch tonight.
  7. Next game is on WPWR? They need to throw a few more networks into the mix.
  8. The rotation has been adjusted for the upcoming games. Friday-Sunday vs. Colorado will be Wood, Hammel, and Hendricks, in that order. Any idea what the justification could be for flipping Wood and Hammel? Also, this means Lester will have 7 days between starts. Is it too soon to worry that he may have lingering issues from the "dead arm" period?
  9. How much money does this rainout make the cubs knowing they can now sell marquee bleacher tickets to a summer game?
  10. Opening night followed by 3 days out of 4 off... That just isn't fair.
  11. We won our opener in 2013 unless you mean home openers. Oops, I was looking at the wrong list. You are right.
  12. What would they do with all the extra air time leftover from the shots of the broadcast booth?
  13. That won't fly. You know STL is the only team allowed to accuse an opponent of cheating. I'm not sure it's actually illegal because he starts his movement toward home with his foot on the rubber and it's one continuous motion. I could be wrong but I didn't see anything about it in the rule book. I would make a continuous motion where I spin repeatedly like the tasmanian devil and then hand the ball to the catcher.
  14. Since we're allowing pitchers to throw without their foot on the rubber now, Edwin Jackson should go into his windup, then run 10 feet toward home plate and let the ball fly. He may be a useful pitcher after all.
  15. Nothing to show for it, but Olt's approach does look much better so far.
  16. No, because then if both backups get hurt the Cubs are out of catchers.
  17. "This is where a veteran pitcher throws a fastball and freezes a young hitter." Spoken as if Rizzo is a rookie who hasn't proven anything at the major league level.
  18. Oh give me a break. He's not comfortable throwing the ball to bases? American league pitchers have to field to you know.
