  1. I don't care if they put Mike Baxter's career batting average up on the screen. I'm not convinced that he has ever had a hit.
  2. With the giant LCD board, it is really time to just put a video of Harry on there and be done with it.
  3. It does, but he can go full Road Warrior Hawk as long as he keeps hitting home runs.
  4. Consistently not scoring runs is getting kind of annoying.
  5. Not that it matters, but that being an unearned run is kind of strange.
  6. It sucks having to forfeit one out of every three innings because of the Ross/pitcher spot in the order.
  7. To be fair, it sounds like pretty much everyone in Iowa's lineup was ripping the opposing pitcher, so take Javy's home runs with a grain of salt.
  8. Amazing game by Hendricks. Some credit also has to go to Maddon for sticking with him through some rough outings and repeatedly expressing confidence in him. Many previous Cubs managers would have been quick to yank Hendricks from the rotation, while letting the "veteran" Wood keep his spot. It is certainly refreshing that Maddon isn't one of those guys.
  9. Has the pitcher missing his spot always been an excuse for umpires to miss strike calls? It seems to be a more frequent occurrence in recent years.
  10. He may not have the greatest range and the accuracy and release time on his throws leaves something to be desired, but he has great hands and has made some really nice plays on hard hit balls.
  11. I was at today's game and was somewhat surprised by the number of empty seats. Yes, I have come to expect that over the past few years, but with the team playing well I am surprised that attendance hasn't bounced back more quickly. Especially on a warm Sunday afternoon in May, what is holding people back? StubHub sales seem to reflect the same sluggish demand, with even marquee weekend games selling at a loss. What do you think it will take for us to see Wrigley packed on a consistent basis again?
  12. Wait, how did Schlitter not get sent back down after yesterday?
  13. Regardless of whether they should have overturned the call, the blame still falls on Castro. Players simply can't overslide bases now with replay in effect.
  14. Nicely done! Schlitter better reimburse the Cubs for that plane ticket.
