    even if he stays this guy, i'm pretty sure he's under control for almost all of his remaining effectiveness 3 more years, which would take him through his age 31 season.

    Could have kept Harris and traded the rights to Nurkic in a sign/trade, that would have been a win-win.

    Ummm... Samardzija? Hammel has had no hit stuff this year, too. Jackson has the stuff when he's on, too. Plus, he'd never have to be in the stretch if it was a perfecto. Heck, Edwin has already thrown a no-hitter once. Didn't he walk something like 7 batters too?
