  1. why is this particular punter so intricate to our game plan? he punts the ball, that's it. Huh? i was agreeing with you. it's not like a guy sitting on his couch watching the game right now would need to learn any plays. Ahh, I get it now. Read that wrong the first time.

  3. There are literally hundreds of unemployed punters who could do a better job than Podlesh has done this season, yet somehow we continue to see him week after week.
  4. Why is Podlesh still on this team????
  5. Even when they get stuffed, they still gain a yard.
  6. So why exactly did the Bears not try a 53 yard field goal there?
  7. I'm not convinced that the Yankees are willing to spend what it is going to take to sign Tanaka. Aren't they trying to stay under the luxury tax threshold to avoid increased penalties? There is no telling what the Dodgers will do though. If they really want Tanaka, they will probably get him.
  8. I'm not sure if you somehow meant to write "forte" or what. Nope. I meant that anyone could run through those holes, including the most useless player on the field.
  9. I don't think anyone could possibly blame Cutler for this one, but I just think a healthy McCown gives the team a better chance to win next week than Cutler does in whatever less-than-100% state he is currently in. It is a moot point anyway, because we all know Cutler is going to start.
  10. Podlesh is just on the wrong side of the field tonight. If he were an Eagles running back, he would have 100 yards and 2 touchdowns.
  11. Well, that's just wrong. Is it? I'm not saying he is the better quarterback, but he is the better quarterback right now. Also wrong. I disagree. Cutler is still not right. How many times has he got up slowly tonight on seemingly pedestrian hits? He still doesn't look 100% healthy to me.

  13. I have very little doubt that McCown gives the Bears the best chance to win next week.
  14. That's on Trestman. Same with Podlesh. He's gotta do something about it. You mean it doesn't count to bring in another punter to kick a few balls in practice, then send him home?
  15. He just got old, that's all. As I recall the Bears chose to keep him around this year when they didn't have to. Who knows if Urlacher had anything at all left, but maybe they kept the wrong old guy.
  16. Well this is one way to stall a drive.
  17. Good no call there. Alshon was holding him off with his left arm.
  18. "Finds the soft spot" It may be more of a challenge to find a spot that isn't soft.
  19. Well, they could punt if their punter wasn't Podlesh.
  20. If you say so. Are people still questioning this? It seems pretty implicit that it is true. It is entirely possible that the Cubs are unable to spend money because of the structure of the Tribune sale and not because ownership doesn't have it. It doesn't matter how much money the owners have if they are only allowed to spend the direct revenue from baseball operations. If I remember correctly, those restrictions will be lifted in a few years.
  21. I have to think there will be some serious restrictions on how the fielder can position themselves in front of the base/plate. Or maybe they just want to encourage guys to go over the top Willie Mays Hayes style.
