  1. Sutcliffe is annoying, but I can take him in small doses. If it's just the San Diego series and then JD comes back, I can live with that.
  2. Cameraman was in on it too. I thought the ball was 10 rows deep.
  3. That was a fun interview with Kyle. I don't know that I've ever seen him be so comfortable in an interview. Maybe that's what an outstanding performance the night before will do for you.
  4. "At least" being the key qualifier here. There seems to be an assumption that the next Cubs core already exists and is just a few years away, but there is no guarantee of their current prospects materializing into anything. There are a lot of intriguing prospects in the system, but certainly no sure things. If the only realistic path to building a winning team is to start with a core of young, team-controlled players, and if the Cubs current group of prospects doesn't develop into that core, then we're in for an extremely long period of mediocrity. With Happ being one of the few players on the major league roster who can bring talent to supplement the current prospect pool, trading him should absolutely be on the table, and sooner than later.
  5. And Hermosillo. And Ortega. Suddenly Heyward doesn't look so bad (narrator: "He still looks bad").
  6. How many picks are drawn? At least it gives us a chance at number 1 if the Reds keep up their pace. They haven’t played us yet though so there’s time flip us in the standings I have to think the lottery has just as much chance of helping the Cubs than hurting them. As bad as they are, there are multiple other teams that are worse.
  7. I'm not sure it accomplishes anything to send him down, but does he have any options remaining?
  8. I won't tell you you're wrong. I will tell you that you're using 16 PAs as your sample size. Fair, but I’m also using my eyes. He’s a better player than Frank. I agree. Rivas also has a pretty good track record in the minor leagues and plays good defense. He actually reminds me a lot of Mark Grace. Not saying that he will turn out to be Mark Grace, but they have a similar profile.
  9. I love Kyle and appreciate everything he has done for the Cubs, but I think he is toast.
  10. It's annoying that Madrigal is bad. What a waste of an opportunity to get a real prospect. Instead we get a poor man's Nico Hoerner.
  11. For a guy who "doesn't strikeout", he sure does seem to have 2 strikes on him every time up
  12. I realize Andrelton Simmons is injured, but how do you even have a roster where your two reserve infielders are a guy who can only play 1B and another guy who can't play anywhere?
  13. We have been spoiled by some really good defensive infielders over the past several years, and now we get to suffer through a terrible one.
  14. Called correctly by someone in yesterday's game thread.
  15. I don't know that I'm ready to completely throw in the towel on Schwindel, but I'm definitely in favor of Rivas getting more starts.
  16. That was a hanger and, of course, Madrigal couldn't do anything with it except ground out.
  17. It was somewhat fun for a couple weeks, but this team is awful.
  18. Someone please peek into the future and tell me we don't let him finish his contractI think we're stuck with him through the end of this season (barring a real or contrived injury), but he'll be DFA'd next spring.
  19. I know my pre 2016 Samsung doesn't support a lot of apps now. That could be the issue as well. I stopped using the apps on my pre-2016 Samsung in favor of Amazon Fire boxes/sticks pretty quickly. They were hot garbage. The TV was too, for that matter; it broke 5 years in. That has been my experience with most TV's and/or Blu-ray players that I have owned. It usually isn't even worth bothering with the apps, as they become outdated and obsolete much sooner than the TV's themselves. I have to say though that my experience with Sony TV's has been very good. My 4 year old Sony OLED still runs all the apps just as well as my Roku or Nvidia Shield TV.
