Hell, put Cairo Santos at receiver and send him to the end zone. He has a better chance of catching the hail Mary than he had of making that kick. -

You know your kicker's absolute max range, right? Because that was well beyond it. Even the 2% chance on a hail Mary is greater than zero. -
But why did the starter get injured during the series? It could be that it was going to happen no matter what, but it could have also been a result of pitching on short rest and/or in relief. I'm not going to absolve the Dodgers of all blame and just chalk everything up to bad luck.

The Dodgers won 106 games in the regular season and now suddenly Dave Roberts has flipped the switch to crazy rotation/bullpen management for the playoffs. He got away with it against the Giants, but he's definitely playing with fire (and hopefully will continue to get burned).

wrong. institute the pitch clock. The 3 batter minimum will fix everything. Disregard the fact that teams are setting records for the number of pitchers used.

The two best teams in baseball, battled for the division title down to the last game of the season, came down to the last inning of the deciding game in the playoff series, and it was ultimately decided by the freaking umpire. That just can't happen.

McFarland gave up 2 rockets and then walked one of the worst hitters in the Dodgers lineup to extend the inning. Schildt definitely outsmarted himself there.

I'm rooting hard for the Cardinals. This may be the best opportunity for anyone to beat the Dodgers. Get rid of the Dodgers and then let KB's Giants destroy the Cards. -
I dont know how these things tend to play out over a career, but Happ's extreme hot and cold issues bother me. I dont think LF would be in the top 5 places that Cubs need to improve next season. But I would be down for moving Happ if it helps net something useful and finding another LFer I agree. I admit I was wrong about Happ and he is definitely worth tendering a contract. But I'm still not sold on him as a long term answer in the outfield and would be willing to entertain offers to return another useable piece.

Arrieta was DFA'd today by the Padres and finishes the season (assuming he is out of chances) with a 7.39 ERA. He can be proud knowing that his career ended with one of the worst seasons in MLB history. -
I don't know about Wisdom anymore. Clearly he has power, but I don't think he can be relied on as a Major League starter with his 40% + strikeout rate. And his bat just doesn't play off the bench. His strikeout rate is too high for him to be of much value as a pinch-hitter in any key situation. I certainly don't think the team can carry both Bote and Wisdom on the bench, as they have fairly redundant skillsets, and Bote provides a little more versatility. Wisdom has been a good story, but he might end up back in AAA next year as injury insurance (and Bote will most likely get injured again). I don't see Alfonso Rivas on your list. What are people's thoughts about him? With him being able to play the corner outfield spots, is it crazy to think he might be able to make the roster next year as a reserve outfielder and a backup (occasional platoon partner) to Schwindel at 1B?

I started in 2013 as well. But what you said above is the problem. You roughly break even in the good years, and take a bath in the not-so-good years. My goal was never to make money, but I can't sustain multiple consecutive years of huge losses and continue to buy tickets. Taking the losses in 2013 and 2014 was palatable because of the promise of what was coming, but this time the future is more unclear.

Highlight of my night is arguing this point against former Bears Dez Clark. But yeah, maybe not all the 3 & outs (actually 0). Only 1 punt. In opponents territory all night. But again 14 points scored is never going to be enough. And again, held off the board until the final 2 minutes of the half. Made a point to add a bunch of speed to the offense, but 0 completions longer than 11 yards. I'm not sure they even had an attempt over 13, and that 13 yarder was on 4th & 15. Sent from my SM-A115AZ using Tapatalk Dalton doesn't have the arm to go farther then 13 yards. Also, given his age he prolly can't see past 13 yards The guy is 33. Not exactly Rip Van Winkle (or Jason Peters for that matter).

That was so predictable. Take the penalty instead of 4th down, them give up the 1st down on the next play.

I didn't see any of it as cringe worthy. Yes, Ricketts is a piece of horsefeathers, but I can separate the moment from him to simply appreciate KB's return.
