These are the same people who have their Windows desktop full of file icons because it takes extra clicks to organize them into proper subfolders, aren't they?
Seriously though, I recognize the ignorance in saying "This is how it was before, so this is how it should always be." But it does feel like we're stuck in between right now and need to go one direction or another. We have a transactions forum that sometimes gets used and sometimes doesn't. We have a draft/amateur forum that rarely gets posted in except around draft time. We have a general baseball talk forum that is sometimes hard to distinguish from the Cubs discussion. And we have a Game Threads forum that archives all the game threads, but not the current day's game.
So, where do we go from here? Is it better just to merge everything into two forums, Cubs DIscussion and Minor Leagues, and get rid of all the others that aren't being used consistently? My personal preference is to keep things organized into logical threads and categories, but maybe there just isn't enough activity anymore to justify all the separate forums. At some point though, when you combine everything into just a few generic categories, the site becomes not all that much different than a Discord channel and it can be difficult to follow. How didn't I know that the Cubs signed Player X, or put Player Y on the injured list? Oh, it's because that discussion took place inside another larger thread that I didn't read on that particular day.
I just think we need to pick a lane. If we're going to keep the subforums, let's try to use them. If not, there isn't much point in keeping them around.
