    SS Help

First off, don't pick up Barmes. His numbers last year look better than they should because he got injured right after his hot streak. Kept his season numbers from regressing to the mean, even if his talent level still isn't that high. Barmes just wont be worth more than Crosby or Hardy. As for Hardy, he should be pretty good this season. Last I heard, he was gonna be batting in the 2 hole, with pretty good hitters up and down that lineup. He should score quite a few runs. But Crosby will outperform both easily when he's healthy.
  2. Man, he got hammered hard. Yeah, I was listening to it on the radio. It sounded like the Yankees hitters were just zeroing in on the ball the second it left his hand.
  3. No lineups yet, but Bartolo Colon left the game in the 3rd inning after giving up 8 runs.
  4. In most cases, no. But most fans wont start actively booing a player until it's gotten so bad that it's beyond a doubt they aren't earning their keep. Granted some fans are spoiled rotten and would boo the likes of ARod, but most will wait for the fruitless flailing of Corey Patterson before letting the boo birds out. In those cases, I think fan emotion speaks wonders for what needs to be done. I'm sorry, was I implying I've been booing the man? I don't recall saying it, but I may have misled you unintenionally. I'm not booing Jacque Jones. I can just see why people are.
  5. vote with dollars And how would that let Jim Hendry know what we're upset about? Maybe we really wanted Furcal. Maybe we don't like the Jones signing. Maybe we don't like the Eyre signing. Maybe we don't like Brandon Sing making the team. For better or worse, this is the easiest way to push our opinions accross.
  6. This is an entertainment industry. Hendry's signing of Jones is not good entertainment. As paying customers, we have the right to express our thoughts on subpar goods. Now perhaps booing Jones for getting the contract isn't appropriate, but it's the only readily available mode of recourse we have to express ourselves.
  7. If what you say is true, then Baylor was nothing like Weaver. Like him with the home runs, not like him with the sacs. Can you please tell me how many games you've watched that Weaver managed? What are your sources of Weaver's managing style? I'm just curious to how much you really know about Weaver. On that note, I highly recommend reading "Weaver on Strategy"
  8. Well that will help us since Milwaukee hasn't lost. But then we have to play the Pirates.
  9. Yeah, but now the Twins are holding onto Justin Jones, who is looking healthy by the way...
  10. He's reminding me more and more of Roger Cedeno everyday. At least Corey wasn't so dramatically overpaid...
  11. Let's go Jacquestrap!
  12. .286/.412./.514 That's JD Drew's line from last year... even accounting for his 0-25 slump to start the season. There's still hope for JJ, even if he is no JD.
  13. At least Z is leading off next inning. He should give Lee somebody to bat in.
  14. Ya know, watching Lee steal made me wonder about JJ's true level of speed. Ron Gardenhire never liked sending people unless he really had to. So then I got to thinking what Jones might be capable of stealing with Dusty trying to run this team to the postseason. I came up with an estimated zero steals. He'd have to be getting on base first.
  15. Wow, Aramis tried to headbutt that pitch.
  16. I didn't know anybody actually uses that...
  17. Sorry, trying to fill out job applications. Aramis must be cold.
  18. That's the way, uh huh uh huh, I like it, uh huh uh huh.
  19. That scared the hell outta me.
  20. Wow... Looks like our 2B can't hit Carp at all. If Baker really feels the need to put Neifury in the game, this would be the one to do it in, provided he slot in the #8 hole.
  21. I don't like to think about trading pitchers to the Braves. By the way, whatever happened to Andy Pratt?
  22. I don't know. Brazoban kinda choked last year in the closer's role, and Baez isn't exactly a top-tier pitcher. I was under the impression he wasn't supposed to be the backup closer so much as he was supposed to be a full-time setup man.
  23. Just a thought here, but with the recent injury to Gagne, the Dodgers are short one darn good reliever, possibly for the rest of the season. Williamson would seem to be a perfect fit over there. What would it take for you to let the Dodgers pry Williamson away?
