1. I've probably watched just as much baseball as you, if not more. 2. The entire premise of damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't is that it's impossible to win. By definition of the game, it's entirely possible to win. The idea is to make educated moves so that over the long haul, the good decisions vastly outweight the bad ones. In 99% of cases, that's evident in the statistical record. I'm sorry if you disagree. But if Dusty had left Marshall in and Marshall had gotten a DP, Dusty wasn't damned. You may be trying to make a different point, but you're using the wrong cliches if you are.
