  1. Positional scarcity should be a factor. A SS with an .800 OPS is worth a lot more than a LF with an .800 OPS. On the other hand, how many SS make even half as much as Jeter? Tejada and maybe Furcal? I'm hardly arguing that Jeter isn't overpaid. I just didn't like the formula being used to determine it.

  3. There are only a few instances where walking him would decrease run expectancy. Runners on 2nd and 3rd with less than 2 outs comes immediately to mind. But aside from a few situations, I think we're best of going after him. Of course we don't want to give him any "challenge" pitches, cause he'll win that bet most of the time, but I don't have a problem with throwing low and away and making him beat you.
  4. Kevin Milwood might make a run at it pitching in that little band box in arlington this season...
  5. Does Denny Neagle still have any money coming? I know they were going to go to court....
  6. I'm 6' 245 lbs and built like a tank. Decent reflexes, soft hands and a cannon arm with no accuracy whatsoever. And I run my 40 at just around 5 flat. I always played third until we finally got a guy who was looking like brooks robinson over there, and I shifted over to first. I guess I'd be the backup corner infielder/ power righthanded bat off the bench.
  7. I really wish we would be more patient with Lowe pitching... he rarely ever lets that ball stay in the bottom of the zone.
  8. I can't decide if it's a good play by Mueller to just get that one knocked down or if it was something he should've had.
  9. Z makes him look foolish!
  10. Threat ended in Houston. Going into the bottom of 8, Mil 10 Hou 12
  11. In Houston Wild pitch, runners on 2nd and 3rd with two outs in the eighth... down 10-12 with a full count in the eight inning. Hall up, Lidge pitching.
  12. In Houston, Runners on 1st and 2nd, two outs. Bill Hall up and Lidge pitching. 0-1 count. Still down 10-12
  13. Did this place crash for anybody else?
  14. Everytime Len says "And it's up to Neifi with 2 outs..." an Angel's wings fall off.
  15. What was Murton swinging at that for?
  16. Came out of his shoes swinging at that one... Edit: Jones with a hit! He's not gonna turn into Christian Guzman without a fight.
  17. Popout to Kent. I'm kinda hoping his concussion gets the best of him in an inopportune moment tonight...
  18. On the bright side of things, Aramis will be a freaking monster for a few weeks/months when he breaks out of this slump.
  19. Maddux pitches to the conditions. The game vs the Reds at Wrigley the wind was howling out and he was still awesome. So saying he has pitched under good conditions is just wrong. How so? The Cinci game was his worst of the year.
  20. c'mon already! I need to watch this game!
  21. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
