  1. June gloom is in full force for tonight. The air is very heavy with moisture, so runs will be very scarce tonight. I won't have a problem with hit and runs or sacrifices tonight. Anything to get an advantage on the dynamics of tonight's game.
  2. Yay. The Saturday game will likely be the Fox game of the week in my neck of the woods.
  3. I don't remember seeing him play on Monday.
  4. From where I was sitting, it looked like Lou was reading Marquis the riot act.
  5. I guess the one trade I wouldn't mind having back is Ervin Santana for Edwin Encarnacion. Ervin's breakout year was supposed to be last year and after the pain he put me through, I figured cutting bait was the best approach going into this year. Besides, I had plenty of pitching worth keeping ahead of Santana. Now Edwin is putting me through a lot of pain. But, he only has a week or two left on my roster, so I should soon have relief.
  6. Conor has been better than the 1b I kept.
  7. Without researching, the guy who comes to mind most quickly is Jerry Reuss.
  8. I'm happy with all the trades I have made.
  9. Ted Leitner or Jerry Coleman? I don't think either sounds like Lou.
  10. And not a very good one. Cubs should destroy this guy tonight. Meanwhile, I sense a decent start for Marquis tonight. Gonzalez cashed in all of his chips for this series last night on Marmol and Zambrano.
  11. The boos were pretty loud for Edmonds last night at Petco.
  12. We are meeting up at a bar called "The Library" at 4:45 and then heading downtown to eat and drink at a restaraunt where a friend of ours works prior to the game. We have someone else's season tickets tonight, but I don't think they are nearly as good as the seats I had last night. Give me a call if you end up getting tickets to tonight's game. Oh, and the guy who gave me the seats last night should be able to get us into the Miller Beer booth tonight.
  13. If Edmonds keeps hitting the way he has lately, I think I might eventually come around to him wearing Cubbie blue.
  14. Yeah, I don't get why Cedeno sees so little playing time right now. Wasn't the big excuse last year that Theriot wore out last season as his offensive production plummeted? Why not let Cedeno spell Theriot more often to save Theriot from wearing down? Of course, I never bought into that excuse, but Theriot has earned his place in the starting line up, but why not let him get some occasional rest from a guy who can field the position better than Theriot can.
  15. Great game. Giles broken bat off Marmol hit a kid at the end of my row. A 70+ old lady took a rocket foul ball by DeRo off the fingertips a few rows behind me. Someone brought her the ball. That was cool.
  16. Well if you got a DVR, you won't need pics. You can just watch the game over and over. ;)
  17. I scored tickets for all 3 games. But, still no extras. Just got off the phone with Vance. He has one of those funny southern accents.
  18. Just got off the phone with Vance and we will probably meet up before the game. I'll be wearing the "LOU" Cubs sweatshirt tonight in a sea of Padres season ticket holders behind the Padres dugout. Based on past games where I sat there, I believe I can be occasionally seen when lefty hitters are at the plate. The wife will be the really hot blonde sitting next to me.
  19. Looks like I might be going to all three games, afterall. If I make it to tonight's game, I'll be in heaven. Super excellent seats. Once the wife confirms we can go, I'll fill you in so can all look for us when left handed hitters are at the plate. Vance will be at tonight's game, so we will have to meet up with him at some point. She better give the okay. Carlos on the mound, 5th to 7th row seats right behind the Padres dugout. This is the Cubs year! Best part is I'll probably only have to pay for my ticket for tomorrow's game where I'm replacing someone who can't go. The other one's are free. And since I just paid $4.23 a gallon for gas today, I like it.

    Week 10

Buddiga (3-6) at Dishman's Dishmans (3-6) Draconian Empire (4-5) at Alamo Stealth (5-4) Lynx (5-4) at NC Cubs (5-4) The Eyes of Texas (6-3) at Voo Doo Bayou Bashers (3-6) Quakers (5-4) at Galesburg Hand Sanitizers (3-6) Fuzzy Logistics (6-3) at Raw Dawgs (7-2) Severe Tooterstorms (3-6) at Harrys Budcrew (4-5) Northside Baseball (5-4) at Tootielicious (5-4) Match Up Of The Week: Fuzzy Logistics vs. Raw Dawgs One team alone in first place against a team tied for 1st place in the other division. This one could come down to Rich Harden and Pedro Martinez on Sunday. I really wish I had Matt Holliday back for this match up, but Mike Cameron will be playing in Matt's ballpark later this week. Raws two big scoring days look to be Monday and Wednesday, while Fuzzy looks to set a single day scoring record on Friday with starts by Brandon Webb, Javier Vasquez and Johnny Cueto. It should be fun, and I'm going to completely miss how it all ends, as I will be working all weekend. Noteables are Matt Kemp for Raw and Geovany Soto and Carlos Marmol for Fuzzy playing in the 5pm Sunday night game. Sorry, that's a 7pm game for you midwestern folks.
  21. Wow. An extremely rare night game (for me anyway). I love real 7pm starts. :clapping: I've only got tickets for the Wednesday night game. Lilly shall redeem himself this night.
  22. I'll be at the Wednesday game, but I don't any tickets to spare.

    Week 9

Yeah, I don't expect Pedro to go deep into games, either. But, you have to start a guy that's facing teams like San Fran and the Padres in their home parks. As much as I like Laffey, I just can't find a start for him this week.

    Week 9

Anybody going to the Cubs/Pads series? The wife and I have tickets for the Wednesday night game. This is a horrible week for the Cubs to be in town. This is one of my busiest times of the year and it seems like they are here around this time every year where I can only go to 1 game. At least I'll get to see Lilly redeem himself. The key to beating the Padres is to pitch around Adrian Gonzalez.

    Week 9

Should be a good match up. I wish Holliday wasn't on the DL right now, but I do like my pitching this week.
