  1. Dear Carrie, I am really your good buddie Johnny B. Baker. Edward K., Indianapolis, Ind.
  2. Knowing Dusty, the 2 and 5 holes are probably interchangeable between Walker (if the Cubs keep him) and Jones.
  3. Well i'd start by selling Hendry and Dusty to a tribe of cannibals for a string of beads.
  4. Will you please leave. What did I do? What I said was true, as it stands the Cubs are better than last year. Sheesh. You gave him HOPE and that is a dangerous thing for any Cubs fan to have  According to BP the Cubs finished about 6-7 wins less than they should have: http://www.baseballprospectus.com/statistics/standings.php PLUS they upgraded that team. Oh and the Cards finished well above what they should have. Oh great. Now the Cubs should finish with 10-15 wins less than they should have.
  5. Yes but we all know that money belongs in Tribster pockets dont we?
  6. Will you please leave. What did I do? What I said was true, as it stands the Cubs are better than last year. Sheesh. You gave him HOPE and that is a dangerous thing for any Cubs fan to have
  7. Well our offense pretty much looks the way the White Sox offense did last year. All we have to do is expect the same miracle they got which was a healthy starting rotation all year long.
  8. I think it's now safe to say that this has been an absolute horror of an off-season and guess what? We're only in december!
  9. Well we knew the Yanks would up the money and four years (though a bit much) is not terrible considering Boras was shouting 7 years. Damon should effectively solve the Yankee problem in CF for at least a couple years until his production tails off.
  10. Sure. Shoulder vs. elbow, though. I wouldn't be confident. He could keep Wood company...
  11. Hendry does have a track record of signing injured pitchers who cannot appear at the beginning of the season.
  12. Only in the South.
  13. The "live ball" has probably had a similar effect to baseball as the shot clock has to the NBA. The resurgence of the home run hitters has brought more fans to baseball. I'm not going to comment on the quality of those additional fans, but they have come and with it has produced more revenue for the game.
  14. Cubs would've been on the hook for way too much had they offered. Hendry made the right decision.
  15. Now the Dodgers have the Poor man's version of Juan Pierre.
  16. Totally agree. I give Murton a better probability of being a successful long-term bigleaguer than say Corey or even Pie for the simple fact that Matt already has good plate discipline. Power is something that can be developed/grown into.
  17. If the Cubs are gonna go with YOUTH, then why would they trade Prior?
  18. Where I'm from we call it PEPSI
  19. Hey that's what I said if the Cubs got Damon! :D Makes sense. If we got Damon, we'd definately want our outfield to be Pierre, Pie, Murton from left to right. So if we got Damon, he becomes the DH?
  20. In this day and age you have to get used to multi-tasking. I'd recommend that you do your statistical regressions while having a game playing in the background. Might be a good idea to get a haircut too while you're at it.
  21. Because Damon wants a 4 to 5 year contract and we all know that Hendry doesnt go past 3 years anymore.
  22. What are the chances that Johnny Damon is worth $13 million NEXT SEASON? Same chance that Sammy Sosa would be worth $18M LAST year
  23. And here I thought Slappy was a reference to his cap being knocked sideways.
