    What a complete contrast to Billy Beane who has been accused of trying to dictate upon his manager too much. The funny thing is the A's are once again having a strong 2nd half and the Cubs are... well you know.

    Lawton has a good OBP that we could have used in front of Lee and Aramis when they were both raking last month. The run differential he would have caused might have added as many as 5 wins to this team last month...

    I used to think highly of Larry, but pitching performance in the last two years has made me surmise that Rothschild is overrated.

    I don't think Nomar has the same clout or prestige anymore as when he was in Boston, so a change in position might not be as "out in LF" as we consider it to be.

    Indeed I think that shoulder may be bothering DLee more than he cares to admit. Ditto for Aramis and the quadricep. Most likely the shoulder is altering Lee's swing enough. We all know the difference between a pop-up and a home run swing can be measured in fractions of inches.

    As much as I hate to admit it, firing Dusty now will have minimal impact as this team has gone past the critical point already. The only positive about letting Dusty finish the season is that perhaps he saves a little bit of pride and leaves the team on amicable terms.

    Wood was indeed pretty impressive. I half expected him to take over for Hill when Rich lost it since we know Kerry can go more than an inning and pitch well. Then I remembered who was managing our team and I accepted the fact that we weren't going to get a a good in-game decision.

    I'm a big fan of Jim Hendry and what he's done so far, but if he doesn't fire Dusty soon then he's got to go too.

    Let's bring up the entire DJaxx team and see what they can do. They should be rewarded with an opportunity to finish the job and win a SL championship, not be punished for the sins of the parent club. Bring them up AFTER they win the championship then.

    Scott, I like you, but if you keep talking like this, I'm gonna puke and then I'm gonna clobber you. :-) I gonna still believe that they will pull this game out of the fire and end the streak. They have nothing to lose now. It's all about pride. We'll see what kind of men this team is made of when they can only play for pride. Everything else might be out of reach. Hill had a bad game. As a team you move on. Get the Offense going and see what happens. Scott, I gotta say that you've drinken a little too much Cubbie kool-aid. This team doesn't have any pride right now.     What does it matter if we have 10 games left with the Astros? Even if we beat up on them which is highly unlikely, there are still 5 other teams which are ahead of us and what are the chances all 5 of those teams tank too?
