  1. dang, Rowand made that easy pop uo look REALLY easy.
  2. regardless of cause of death, cocaine is bad. I know, I know, really going out on a ledge there.
  3. damn, I thought a google images search of relevant terms was my own little internet secret ;)

  5. well, folks... this is what happens when a GM makes a trade just to make a trade ;)
  6. Probably since the article was published. :D
  7. not proud of this, but my opinion of possibly acquiring Dye or Church is turning more positive . . . just for the excitement of a trade today. Like I said, not proud, and it's a good thing I'm not a GM :)
  8. until there's another hour lol, the 11 minute countdown to the 1 hour countdown. FWIW, i thought I remember hearing 2:00 as well Mountain time, the deadline is 4pm Eastern sure, but I remember committing 2central/3eastern to memory. oh well :)

  10. yep that was the extent of it. He thought he'd be great in Chicago's CF or RF. Gammons said he'd like to see him back in the playoffs. no real link to the cubs, though. the reds -- as far as the media knows -- don't seem to be talking to teams about Dunn/Griff anymore. :(
  11. church AND dye? Even one of them confuses me: where would these guys play and who would they replace on the roster?
  12. dang. like gammons said, these kinds of pitchers just don't get dealt these days. could be very interesting.
  13. He didnt "make" a rumor. He reported what he heard on the SCORE, chill. What he CLAIMS to have heard on the Score. I don't believe him. You guys can be some real jerks on deadline-day. He isn't coming here making any ridiculous assertions about a trade actually happening. He said he HEARD something on the score about the cubs POSSIBLY making an offer to the reds and he titled the thread appropriately. No reason to be jumping down his throat. christ. Some posters are raising legitimate doubts that the OP heard correctly or even heard anything at all. I don't think anyone is jumping down his throat. And your own post came off as the most caustic in the thread thus far, IMO
  14. he said it was from Gammons, did he not? this should be pretty easy to either confirm or deny (at least its rumor status) in a hurry. BBTN was on earlier tonight, with Gammons, I only watched for a couple minutes, though. anyone else? I, for one (er.. with everyone else here I guess), think the rumor is complete BS. perhaps the thread title should reflect the rumor's cred.?
  15. finally a new topic in the transactions forum . . .and it's not about us! gah!! ;)
  16. Pretty sure Sut was talking about Dempster's blocking of Iguchi from the plate... Sometimes Rick doesn't, uh, say the right words. :)
  17. yeah, he didn't hurt anything, it looked like. But he looked massively wasted... so maybe a headache tomorrow.
  18. Only because they were swung at. At least 5 or 6 were out of the zone. that's mostly why it's so depressing. :)
  19. 12 pitch inning not depressing enough? All strikes.
  20. I won't relay any rumors if you promise to stop telling people not to post on a message board. deal? I highly doubt my measly little post will bring an end to numerous posts in the Transaction forum, take it easy bud. I've never wanted a big, exciting rumor more, and for as many reasons ;)
  21. I won't relay any rumors if you promise to stop telling people not to post on a message board. deal?
  22. well... good. but it does leave you with the feeling that he's done.
  23. Who cares? Prospects are valuable in two ways: to develop in to low-cost, long-term assets, and to be traded for short-time, more impactful players. Ramirez and Lee, our two offensive cornerstones, both were a result of our prospect development.
