  1. More bad baseball.
  2. Don't forget Jim Hendry, MLB's worst GM. Yeah, that's not true. No one does less with more than our very own Punch Drunk.
  3. It's OK, folks. Baseball Prospectus says we're going to win 94 games.
  4. That's just silly. Once Toronto falls out of playoff contention, they'll be itching to get rid of Burnett. If he's healthy and pitching well, he'll opt out of his contract at the end of the season, and they wouldn't get any compensatory draft picks for that. If he's not healthy at the end of the season, he wont exercise the opt-out, which puts Ricciardi (whom has already publicly traded jabs with Burnett) in the situation of having an injured ace making twelve million for each of the next two years. Burnett's contract is going to screw Toronto one way or the other. Letting Ricciardi name his price would be utterly foolish. Play hardball in negotiations and walk away with a good chunk of your top-tier talent still intact instead. I believe the bolded part is not true.
  5. He's the only good relief pitcher we have?
  6. Now, now...let's not overreact by correctly assessing the 2008 Chicago Cubs as a train wreck of a baseball team.
  7. Because you're wrong maybe? Time will tell.
  8. Will Dempster make it out of the first inning? Will he suffer whiplash turning to watch his pitches get hammered out of the park? Will we be no-hit?
  9. Yeah, why hasn't Hendry grabbed one of those guys? The question is - Why hasn't the completely ineffective Hendry administration developed any guys like that? It has. The problem is,somewhere along the line, they decide that they want to be power hitters. Then it hasn't. That's like saying you've baked a pie even if you burned it to a crisp.

  11. The Cubs have a powerful lineup? Since when? Was there a trade I haven't heard about?
  12. Why is it considered to be overreaction to be deeply disappointed in yet another thoroughly mediocre team assembled by the Master of Mediocre himself, the awful Jim Hendry?
  13. It doesn't matter what kind of pitching we get if our offense is this cold. By "cold", I assume you mean "bad".
  14. Hey, Lou: Soriano-Pie-Lee-Ramirez-Fukudome-Soto-DeRosa-Theriot
  15. Please, please try not to be absurd.
  16. Another shameful performance. Rich Hill is our only hope to avoid starting the season 0-5. I don't know how much comfort we should take from that.
  17. It's Dave Bush. Actually, I expect us to score 8 runs. It won't matter, though, as MLB's worst starting pitcher, Ryan Dempster, will give up 10 in 3+ innings.
  18. What kept that from getting out. Cedeno's lack of skill.
  19. What an awful baseball team. Jim Hendry should be ashamed of himself.
  20. Completely dominated, overmatched, and utterly humiliated by Jeff Suppan.
  21. Except they got much less than 52% value for Santana.
  22. I will wait until the Philly series. Why bother? Lilly is bound to get killed today by the Brewers' big RH hitters. Dempster will be lucky to get out of the first inning tomorrow. Hill-Sampson is in our favor, but Hill could just as easily get pounded by Pence-Lee-Tejada. Marquis-Oswalt is as close to a guaranteed loss as there is. 0-5 is certainly on the table.
