I believe everyone realizes this currently. However, many seem to believe it was a small percentage of players that "cheated" the system. We may find it wasn't a small percentage. Personally, I'm not pointing the finger at anyone...well sans Bonds, Conseco, Caminitti....those that have admitted to doing so. I'm also not defending anyone such as Nomar. We simply don't know.

I'm not sure that we (fans outside the business of baseball) can properly judge his "clean attitude". Some individuals are more apt to put their best foot forward in public and thus increase their marketability. Additionally, attitude isn't really a factor when trying to determine if a player used steroids or not. Nice guys were pressured to use steroids just as much as those with abrasive personalities. They were all competing for major league roster spots, stardom, and $$$$. There was an uneven playing field. I don't care to speculate whether Nomar used or not. He certainly didn't gain a tremendous amount of mass, but I can't say that I "highly" doubt that he used. I think there was a VERY deep river of illegal performance enhancing drugs flowing for a long time in the MLB.

I need to trade one of my catchers in an autodraft league. ....Thoughts on which one to keep? Home Runs, Runs Batted In, Batting Average, Stolen Bases, Runs Scored I'm leaning towards keeping Mauer, but I thought I'd ask around since OBP is not a metric being used.

Money is the primary discussion here, but I'm wondering what the true circumstance surrounding the unanswered letters may be. My father made me get a student loan for the one year of school that wasn't covered by my scholarship (the 5th one..heh..yes i changed majors), But I can only imagine what it would have been like to not know my father. Keep in mind that Randy Johnson is alive. He's not a drifter. He's not in jail. He's not a herion addict. He's the adult. There should be some sort of relationship there, IMO. No?

agree...hope there is another side to this. This certainly portrays Randy Johnson as a cold individual that has shunned his daughter because she was an "inconvenience". One would think that he would pay for his offspring to attend college and have some sort of relationship with her if that is what she desires.

Well like somone said the line didnt look to good, but he was throwing some good stuff. I think Guzman is ahead of him for the 5th starter. His curve and change were filthy. His fastball looked straight. The times he worked it down in the zone, he did well. He gave up some ropes on fastballs that he left up in the zone. I'd take Guzman or Marshall ahead of him as fifth starter, but I'd also have no qualms about using him out of the pen. so, are you in az? Watching the game on the tube. No, I'm in Louisiana. Had some great boiled crawfish last night. :) I bet you suck the heads don't you Vance. Am I weird b/c I'm from LA and don't really care for crawfish? Yes... :) Crawfish are fairly popular in Mobile as well. One of my friends had a boil a couple of weeks ago and there are several bars in town that lure patrons with weekly free crawfish boils. Spicy crawfish and cold beverages...mmmm. The season doesn't last that long though.

Marshall did a good job in 4 innings... Guzman is in now. ...believe he was commenting on the possiblity of them pitching for us long term.

I have OSU advancing to the elite 8, so it's imperative they win today. I can somewhat stomach the Badgers losing.

WHO, WHO, WHO...HOOSIERS!! Agreed. Good offense and terrible defense. Gonzaga also plays some poor defense so it should be interesting. Earl was great and Vaden gutted out a great performance considering his physical limitations. Strickland with the HUGE defensive play at the end. Killingsworth was killing me with some of those misses underneath. Good win. I wonder how Vaden's ankle is going to react and how serious Strickland's shoulder injury is. Also, make free throws, please. For many, many years IU consistently made more free throws than their opponent attempted. in the past>

I think IU might have a good chance of beating Gonzaga. The Zags haven't really played well as of late, especially having some trouble with some inferior teams. I got Wichita St. beating Tennessee in the 2nd round. Hope that comes true. I tend to agree....that's why I picked the Hoosiers to pull off the upset. I also picked Wichita St. to beat the Vols. Tennessee wasn't impressive today, so let's hope they don't effectively regroup.

Homer. OK, I'll admit I have Iowa going to the final 4 in all of my brackets. It's fun to dream. I was going to compare it to battered wife sydrome, but that works also.

safe for tonight...did i mention that I was delusional enough to pick IU to win against Gonzaga as well? Today was pretty good....I lost two games. I incorrectly chose the GW-NCW game and the Montana-Nevada game. I'm tied for first place in the pool for my work and definitely hoping the luck continues.
