  1. I have one Jersey. I got a Kerry Wood Jersey for my birthday which took place in April of 2004. I got it in the mail and wore it for the first time on the day he was injured in a May start against the Dodgers. He hasn't really ever been healthy since then. I don't think I will be picking up any more jerseys any time soon.
  2. Can we toss in Izturis, Eyre, and Jones and get Tejada too?? :D Then we can play Pie in CF and have a middle three of Lee, Ramirez, and Tejada. That would be quite amazing. So unrealistic. no pie!
  3. Blurb about Lee in the ESPN Rumor Central. Does this guy really consider Lee to be a superior hitter to JD Drew and Barry Bonds? Wow. It's not an indefensible position to say that Lee is a better hitter than Drew. Drew has the better OBP, but Lee has the better power. The why does Drew have a higher career slugging average? The only way that Lee is better than Drew is that he is more a sure thing to play 150 games. When Drew is on the field he is superior to Lee in almost every single way.

  6. 18. Drinking is fun. me too, on both counts bad kids.
  7. ! I drank a lot of that stuff at a concert in Milwaukee this summer. This is the only other time besides then that I have ever heard the stuff mentioned! It's second only to Indio. Which is hard to get considering it is mexican and isn't imported. I live in San Antonio and its tough to get. I really dont like going down to Laredo and getting shot to get some. So how did a texas beer end up sponsering a small concert in Milwaukee?

  9. this thread is quickly turning into a giant nerd party.
  10. Are you sure JP Ricciardi, Theo Epstein, Billy Beane or Paul DePodesta would? How about Jon Daniels or Chris Antonetti? It's funny because all the other GMs spit out RBI as a credible statistic, which when it was first invented in early 1900s the writers, players and GMs (or whatever they called themselves then) thought it was utterly stupid. I don't think he would be in the lineup.
  11. he is a good player, but he's also overrated. he's being paid like one of the best players in baseball, and he clearly isn't. How is he overrated? Please no stats involved. Your opinion. And I agree with you that he doesn't deserve to get a $136 million dollar contract. But I will never consider him to be overrated. So you agree that he is overrated? Maybe overpaid, but that does that mean overrated? Who are these raters anyway? GMs don't pay more than they think a player is worth. If they don't think they're worth the money, they wouldn't pay it. Isn't overrated when the rater thinks a player is more valuable then he actually is?

And I agree with you that he doesn't deserve to get a $136 million dollar contract. But I will never consider him to be overrated. i think jacque jones is better than albert pujols. prove me wrong...oh, and please no stats involved. Pujols is the games best fastball hitter. He has great plate discipline, plays a solid D at 1B, gets on base, hits for power, hits for a high average, team player, and he runs the bases well. And he has a MVP award. How do you prove these assertions?

  15. I hate baseball conventional wisdom.
  16. OPS isn't a "random" stat. And it only takes about 15 seconds to look it up at any number of sites. By not using OPS you openly admit to not using the stat that best determines offensive production in a cursory manner. So, how do you judge a good player? I base it on watching players. Ive seen both and Soriano has been more productive. Drew hasnt played enough in his career to prove that he is better than Soriano. Can you recall every single time Soriano has batted? That is what the stats that people love to throw around represent.
  17. You should meet my friend, Mr. Facts. Hmmm, Mr. Facts shows that out of 8 seasons for Drew, 4 of them were seriously hampered due to injury and 2 others were less than 140 games. That's what is known in the real universe as a player with injury problems. Minus breaking his wrist last year due to being HBP -- which can't really be attributed to being injury prone, I think -- he's been fairly healthy the last three years. He played 72 games in 2005. Was that because he was on his Mormon holiday? Sorry, I'm being really sarcastic. I like Drew, I really do. But the fact is, chances are better with him he won't be taking the field very often than it is with Soriano.
  18. ditto
  19. I don't often drink pop, but Coke is what I would drink. Diet wise, I say dpepsi is better. wierd.
  20. Speaking of Totino's, does anyone know if they still make the mexican pizza? That used to be my favorite, but I haven't seen it at Walmart in a while.
  21. They didn't really turn a backup catcher into a starter. Yadier may hit like a backup catcher but he has never really been a backup.
  22. Wow, pick your poison Giants fans.
  23. i imagine the cubs would have been much better off if he would've signed that deal, too. Why? I don't think we would have Murton
  24. I love Hunter Pence. He is my myspace friend.
