  1. True that, I’ve a feeling the success of this season will not sustained by May. He’s got a great combination in Wolf and Goldin something of which he’ll never have again. Maybe, the Illini are getting healthier, Ivisic is looking better. Hopefully, the regress to mean game from 3 is coming, be nice if it comes vs. Purdue.
  2. That's true, maybe, on their "cheat" days.
  3. It's a dam shame the Bears, being in Chicago, as compared to the rest of the North, got such a terrible food grade. None of Detroit, Minneapolis or Green Bay, when comes to food, could hold a candle to Chicago.
  4. Is Cassie hurt? Do not believe he’s had an at bat this spring. Did I miss something?
  5. Much like the answer from Bertz above, both make perfect sense, look at aspects of player' game that have changed. And, are those changes effective? If so, they may appear when the lights are turned on.
  6. Question regarding Spring Training - Which type of success is most likely to translate to regular season success hitting or pitching? Arguments could be made for both, think I would choose pitching as the most likely to translate. Keller, Scalzo looked good and, despite giving up a HR, I liked some of what I saw from Neely.
  7. The Ilini suffer an all-time worse loss in program history last Saturday, given the current state of the team. We all knew a beat down was coming guess, the margin doesn't really matter. The lack of 3-point shooting is just mind boggling, decent shooters missing open 3 after open 3, 7-33 vs. MSU, 2 for whatever vs. Duke. It's definitely starting to affect other phases of their game, most especially on defense and rebounding. One of these games, from the 3-point line, they're going to regress to the mean, maybe, it'll be vs. Iowa tomorrow. Once they start hitting some shots other phases of their game will pick up.
  8. I agree, Preciado, Mena and Santana aren't going to make it, it's all up to Cassie.
  9. Yes, I can see that, injuries also took a toll on Bryant as well, maybe its a wash.
  10. So the return on the Bryant trade is ultimately going to be nothing, great.
  11. Thanks, my mistake, he was DFA'ed to make room for Turner. Saw some pieces lamenting this move, I don't see the loss.
  12. Would be great if Kilian materialized, need something to show from the Bryant trade. Don't think Canario will ever amount to anything as he, basically, can't hit.
  13. If, and it's currently a big if, the Illini sneak into the tournament, they're going to be a low seed with no expectations. They could be one of those high talent low seeded teams that puts it together for few a games. Between illness and injuries things have piled on them, all it takes is a little health and some good things to happen. Anything, a good shooter who's been in a season long slump putting it together for a half, a talented player finally playing to his talent level, something positive could spark good basketball from a capable team.
  14. Davis was throwing up at halftime, apparently Ivisic has had just one full practice this month, don't know what is about Underwood' teams and illness. They're so sick that Underwood chose to skip the handshake. Throw in numerous injuries and you have this disaster, don't think there's much that can be done.
  15. I believe there's a strong chance Turner is cooked, then what?
  16. I saw the statistics, maybe a bit of a hot take on my part. Just leery of 40+ plus year olds, don't believe it's a great idea to expect continued success.
  17. If not Arenado, there's got to be better options than older than dirt Turner and Robertson. They're both a waste of resources and may cost the Cubs a win or two.
  18. Don't want to waste money on Turner, he's done, much like Mancini, etc. Maybe pursue a trade for Arenado? He'd be relatively cheap both monetarily (Cardinals would be on the hook for a portion of his salary) and in prospects.
  19. I'd take Gretzky and Mario Lemieux before Ovechkin any day of the week and twice on Sunday. In fact, back in the day, I often thought Lemieux was the better of Gretzky.
  20. If the Bears cannot sign Simth, that's okay, not tying so much to player will allow them to sign multiple offensive lineman. Probably a better approach for the Bears.
  21. Wonder if this marks the beginning of the end of the Chiefs' dominance? In many ways their 2024-2025 season was, for lack of a better word, miraculous, the numbers suggested they weren't a 15-2 team. The way they won is not sustainable over multiple seasons, besides Mahomes and Kelce their receiver and running backs rooms are meh, defense won't maintain it's effectiveness. Actually their receiver room reminds me of some of the Bears' receiver rooms. Just don't see how they can keep up with what they've got. But, who cares anyway, this Super Bowl crap is over and done with, let's get to free agency and the draft.
  22. You could see this coming, although, they won a phenomenal number of close games, it was a long time coming.
  23. Think it’s pretty safe to say the Chiefs are done.
  24. Start acting like a Big Market team, there's no reason they shouldn't dominate the NL Central. LT be damned, putting forth the best possible team, winning, will ultimately generate more revenue.
