  1. What is it with that horsefeathers catcher and that shity ass SS? Holy horsefeathers do the Cubs make below average hitters look great.
  2. I'd be OK with Warren or Loveland at #10, as stated above, the Bears need impact offensive players regardless of the position.
  3. Poles has said something to the extent of there not being much difference between the player available at 10 and those later in the first round. I would think trading up is not a possibility, trading down, most especially if say, Jeanty, Warren and Campbell are gone, is a real possibility.
  4. Or that horsefeathers catcher, Moreno, he's good, but, he's not that good.
  5. Why is it that most any other team in baseball can a find multiple guys with plus stuff who can throw strikes except the Cubs?
  6. Riley might not be a bad choice, he's a lengthy project and the Bulls have the time, he's certainly a better option then yet another tweener who can't shoot.
  7. Little was wild, I'd still like him over, say, a Morgan spinning his soft junk to hitters. At least, with Little, if he's on, which is a big if, the hitters really don't have much of a chance. Can't say that about someone like Morgan who could be hitting his spots and still get crushed.
  8. After that exercise in futility yesterday, here we are, assuming the Bulls will pick around 12. Last year Buzelis was luck and a gift, don't expect that to happen again. Given what we've seen what Terry-Phillips-Williams type will there to be drafted by the Bulls? And, wouldn't you know it, I've seen some mocks having the Bulls at 13 picking Collin Murray-Boyles who's scouting report reads like a clone of Terry-Phillips-Williams - athletic, good defensive footwork, tweener who can't shoot.
  9. Counsell' not quite as bad as Dusty was with his devotion to crappy veterans but, it appears he has a little of it in him.
  10. I'd like to see Workman at 3B, Berti gives you nothing with the bat, with Workman there's a chance, however small, he might run into one. I'll take offense over defense for the early innings.
  11. Just for shits and giggles I wonder if, when facing Arraez, some thought has been given to a fifth infielder? Against the Cubs he seems to wear out the hole between 3B and SS, I'd bring whomever of Happ or Tucker has some infield experience. To play between Swanson and 3B, have Swanson shaded up the middle, have PCA play a left-center and move Tucker or Happ to right-center or are such alignments no longer legal? Actually, check that, have Happ or Tucker go to 1B and move the remaining infielders, don't know why I didn't think of this the first time.
  12. And the Cubs are 5-5 in these games, I doubt there's many other teams who could manage .500 against the Dodgers and Padres.
  13. Didn't watch the game, appears Palencia was effective? When given the chance hoping Little can throw strikes, when he does, he nearly un-hittable.
  14. Great win, clinches a .500 road trip, how great is it that the Cubs ended two steaks for the Padres? I like it! Question - have the Cubs been moved to the NL West and we didn't know about it? Or, are they only allowed to play the Dodgers, Padres and Diamondbacks? 7 games vs. the Dodgers, WTF?
  15. One would think Shaw will have a pretty chance to square him up. I know it’s going to take a while but, it’d be awesome if Shaw at least one big game - that’s allowed right? About time the Cubs put an end to Padres’ home winning streak. It’d be especially great if the Cubs got to the Padres BP - this is allowed to, right?
  16. Haven't checked, the bullpen blow-ups, I believe Pearson and Morgan been the primary contributors, no?
  17. Morgan really needs to go, when a soft singles hitter like Arraez gets him for a HR, you know he's terrible. Pearson as well, don't see why Palencia can't be given a chance.
  18. Fairly certain I heard the ESPN crew talking about them chasing 130 wins, don't believe 117 is realistic either. They're too old, a little injury prone and don't catch the ball very well to win 117 games.
  19. My same thoughts as well, plus their staff is awesome but, fragile, lots of potential arm problems baked in.
  20. Just a fantastic series win, very impressive, now, get at least one in San Diego. Wouldn't surprise me if the Dodgers, for all the talent, don't repeat as World Series Champs, they're highly flawed defensively. Defense, when you're not good at it, has a way of biting you in ass at the worst times.
  21. Is that Pressly' first 3 up, 3 down inning of the year? By the way, play Swanson just made, no way in hell Betts even sniffs that ball.
  22. I knew Shaw wasn't going to put the ball in play, big AB was Amaya.
  23. Terrible by Swanson, should have been taking all the way. At least Hoerner came up big!
  24. There's one area the Cubs are undeniably superior to the Dodgers and that's in defense. All the talk of the Dodgers winning 130 games is nonsense, they don't catch the ball well enough to win that many games.
  25. Once again, lets see one or more of PCA, Shaw, Hoerner and Swanson get on, think they'll be able to have success on the bases vs. Glasnow. In all seriousness how do DH's get injured? Seiya' the Cubs version of Teven Jenkins, made of glass.
