  1. Me as well, I don't his cost will be extraordinarily high, think he's a realistic target.
  2. Wouldn't even kick the tires, the cost alone would be prohibitive and pitchers are super fragile.
  3. From a cursory glance at his numbers I believe it's safe to say this guy is definitely worse than yesterday' Rockies' starter. The Cubs will get to him, the Rockies near perfect execution will not continue and the wind will not save them tonight.
  4. Thanks, thought I read about July being a possibility for Assad.
  5. He's not a option now nevertheless, is there any time table for Assad? Or, is he done for 2025?
  6. Watched the condensed game, it was more Wrigley Field conditions that kept the score down than anything Marquez did. Hard pass.
  7. The Cubs will put big runs tomorrow, Rockies won’t keep executing. They’ve only won 9 games for a reason.
  8. After all the rockets, Cubs win on a ball with 63+ EV seems fitting.
  9. Well, horsefeathers me dead, didn't know anything positive regarding Caleb and the Bears was allowed. Thought it was harp on what a pile of horsefeathers the previous coaching staff was 24/7.
  10. In such scenarios I'll go Cubs, NHL commercial filler, NHL after Cubs' game and, if ongoing, NBA after NHL.
  11. Happ (the hot streak is starting), Swanson and Tucker with favorable numbers vs. Marquez, plus a mashing Suzuki, I like the Cubs' chances tonight.
  12. All the data suggested swing and miss was going down for Pressly. Yet, Hoyer, seemingly ignoring the data went ahead with the acquisition of Pressly. That's the part I don't get, I'd really like to hear what Hoyer thought he was going to get from Pressly.
  13. Tomorrow is the day for Horton' break through dominating start, he's had some time to settle in, it's his turn.
  14. Think the Colorado starter kept the ball down, guessing from his numbers that's been the problem. Unfortunately the best, kind of break through start for him had to come against the Cubs. Don't think he'll being able to replicate it next time he faces the Cubs.
  15. I'll bet he hasn't more than a handful of clean innings, what's the xBAIP against him? I'm guessing it's high but, I bet it's artificially too high, seems everything put in play is a hit.
  16. One of the pitches during the sequence that Thielbar issued a walk was literally in the same place that was a strike in the previous half inning. Is it really that hard for HP umpires to be consistent?
  17. Shaw is going to mash today, think he'll get a good look and hit the ball hard.
  18. Anyone know about the Rockies’ starter? I’m assuming it’s not another Ryan Weathers situation. A lefty with great stuff lacking consistency, while he was a high draft choice. If he has Weathers type stuff he would have been a first rounder.
  19. I could see some deal of batted ball bad luck for Brown today however, it wasn't bad luck he started the game with, what, 10 straight balls? Coming no near the strike zone for 2+ batters, that's the problem, it happens far to often with him. When he finally dialed it in, he was very effective, setting down 9 in a row, why can't he start games dialed in?
  20. How many times have we seen the Cardinals trade for such a guy and he flips the switch as soon as he gets off the plane in St. Louis? Too many horsefeathers times. I know his savant page looks terrible, I still think there's something there, I think being on a crappy go no where team hasn't helped.
  21. Read about the Alcantara and the Cardinals, if the Marlins are going to make him available this early. There's no way the Cardinals should be able to outbid the Cubs. I really, really don't want to see the Cardinals pick him up. He's got turn-it-around on a better team written all over him.
  22. Brown can't remain in the rotation, it's Iowa time for him, work him as reliever. Should he excel, bring him back up for a try in the bullpen. Time for Wicks? I'd keep Flexen as a mop up/innings guy and try Wicks.
  23. As nice as it was to win 2 of 3 this scoring 11, 8 runs over innings 6-9 thing is not going to last forever. Someone, anyone, has to give the Cubs average SP beyond Boyd and Taillon.
  24. I predict when the Reds come to Wrigley guys like Hays, Trevino, and, to some extent, Espinal won't be hitting as they did this series. And a Happ hot streak is forth coming.
  25. Me to. Ha, ha pissant Reds, Cubs SP making you like all stars and still couldn't win series! Don't look now but, outside of Merryweather and, one bad pitch by Palencia, the bullpen has been near spotless.
