  1. Maybe this unrealistic doom bonnering on my part nevertheless, watch the Cardinals trade for Alcantara with lesser assets. And Alcantara, as a Cardinal, instantly regains his Cy Young form and becomes a TOR ace - we've seen this horsefeathers play before. Early 2000's everything those mother horsefeathers touched turned to gold now, it was probably a by product of good scouting still, every horsefeathers trade worked for them.
  2. Watched the condensed game. Games 1 and 2 wind worked against the Cubs keeping the score down, Game 3 wind was the Cubs' friend. The Rockies approach of breaking balls and change ups away worked think we'll see more of the same from the Reds. In order to combat such an approach, the Cubs have to get back grinding out at bats. Talking the walks and forcing opposing pitchers to come to them.
  3. Aren't the Cardinals in same boat with their starters? No TOR, all MOR types who are currently over performing, the regression monster hasn't come from them yet but, it will. The difference is the lineups where, I think, the Cubs have the edge. Cubs also have the edge in buying power, if a TOR or maybe, upper tier MOR is available at the TDL Cubs have the assets to get one of them.
  4. I would. I think he's done with the Marlins and would dramatically improve as a Cub.
  5. In addition to the bullpen, starters we're pretty damn good this series.
  6. Panthers with an empty netter, looks like we're getting a re-match in the Finals.
  7. They're in Texas this weekend you'd think it's time they came back down to Earth.
  8. Fortunately, the CBC channel is available to me via our cable provider, watching it on TV. Don't believe CBC will broadcast the Stanley Cup Final at least they've got the conference finals. horsefeathers Florida just scored, I so don't want the Panthers to repeat nor do I want Seth Jones to hoist the Cup.
  9. Carolina tied it up, we'll see what happens. Anybody else watching hockey on CBC instead of TNT?
  10. To Rockies credit they executed almost flawlessly the whole series. Probably their best series of season even though they were swept. Wouldn't surprise me if they get completely obliterated in their next series.
  11. I give up, Rockies have the best pitching staff in baseball, their record, pitching numbers are an illusion.
  12. Well alright, Cubs giving the Rockies some of their own medicine, soft stuff away, trying to pull, 6-4-3.
  13. Have to look to the opposite field, Rockies are counting on the Cubs trying to pull the ball.
  14. Soft stuff away, nibble, nibble, that's the Rockies game plan and it's working. Cubs have to start looking to drive the ball the other way, stop trying to pull.
  15. Cubs crushed several balls in the first yeah, that at-em, wind ball is not going to work tonight.
  16. Baseball Tonight discussing the Pirates and trading Skenes, going back and forth about keeping him risking injury or trading him for a handful of major league ready talent. Harold Reynolds who isn't correct about quite few things did say something right - the NL Central is winnable, there's no Dodgers or Mets to deal with so, where do the Pirates want to go? The sad part is the Cubs could be the evil empire of the NL Central and Midwest, the only team in the NL Central capable of being so, they choose not to thereby, giving all the other teams a chance.
  17. Pirates as well, yesterday they had a 7 run 8th vs the Diamondbacks. Diamondbacks bullpen seems to be experiencing some of the difficulties the Cubs have had and Martinez is hurt. They've had several late inning implosions, I remember that dipshit Brenly cackling when they had the big 8th in their loss to the Cubs. Don't think he's cackling much these days.
  18. Well, okay, one mistake, so far, for the most, part they've pitched really well, too well for the Rockies.
  19. Thought Horton was close to dominate last night, saw some very good things. Along with some mistakes, think he's close to settling in and a down turn in mistakes.
  20. Combination of the Cubs bats quieting a bit, the wind and, to their credit, Rockies pitchers have yet to a make a mistake this series. It's annoying as horsefeathers but, they in the big leagues which means they're capable. Don't think their mistake free pitching will continue tonight.
  21. Honestly, let Skenes sign with the Dodgers for one billion or whatever dollars, deferred until 2100, then, at least, the Cubs won't have to face him every horsefeathers time they play the Pirates. Seriously, the trade cost is too high, for a risk such as a pitcher. Now, I'd have no problems with the Cubs throwing money at him in FA maybe they can into the deferred game.
  22. What about Birdsell any chance for him in 2025? Sounds like Assad could be ready sometime in July.
