  1. Most especially Wood, he's the best bat of the three. If Horton can limit base runners ahead of him, hell keep the Cubs in the game, Cubs should feast on the Nationals' bullpen.
  2. I think that's the primary culprit wasn't there also a vicious LD he hit that hurt someone? Or, was that in 2017? Beaning happened in 2018.
  3. That's the frustrating part, literally the only team in the Central capable of being such as team, no competition on that front, and, for, I'm guessing financial reasons, they choose option 2. I believe a winning team ultimately makes more money than a losing team that manages to draw a good crowd because of ambiance. Somewhat, like the old expression it takes money to make money. I would love for the Cubs to be the evil empire of the NL Central, use their resources to the fullest, make the whole of the Reds, Cardinals, Brewers and Pirates inconsequential in the Central,
  4. What could have been with KB, injuries de-railed his career. Started with the shoulder in 2017 and then that horsefeathers Marquez beaning. Such a shame, was on track to be amongst the best Cubs ever. Jed has done a decent job, still waiting for Darvish trade to pay off, be it Cassie making an impact as a Cub or in trade for a SP.
  5. I believe what was intended is that they're always right for the Cubs regardless of how they were playing prior to the series. True they've got a great rotation it's also, in baseball years, very old and has not shown any signs of age regression. That's what I was getting at in that they're over performing a tad. Not having Harper in the line up certainly made them less scary for the Brewers.
  6. I thought the Phillies were over performing a bit, to roll over and play dead for the Brewers I did not expect. Don't worry those asswipes will be right for the Cubs.
  7. After looking dead with bats but, still splitting the first two games, the Cubs bats come alive to take the series clincher. Gain a game on the pissbirds and Reds very nice.
  8. Expect the worst, hope for the best, always been my motto as a life long Cubs fan.
  9. WTF was that? A clean, I don't what's the nickname for striking out side inning for Pressly? What, that's his second or third clean inning all year?
  10. Then we have our own really bad hitter, Brujan, swinging at ball 4. Should have had the take sign for him.
  11. It does happen, he's really bad, running a -0.3 WAR (-0.4 O, 0.1 D) so far this season, best he's ever put up was three years ago a 2.4. Don't know why he's hitting second for the Reds.
  12. The walks to not so good hitters like Espinal are the killers. Score some more runs.
  13. That's the injury of the year - oblique - isn't it? If so, fuuuuuuuuuuuuck! I'd been okay with bloody, swollen nose if I had choice. Probably has that in addition to the oblique.
  14. While bad for his looks, that's good for the Cubs, no hamstring-oblique BS.
  15. Just like the last series with those horsefeatherss, struggling coming in, then, right the ship for and against the Cubs. They were ass against the Cardinals as well.
  16. I just going assume the worst, an IL stint, because, when haven't these resulted in a ****** outcome?
  17. I don't think it was about bad pitch selection, it poor execution by Palencia, had he not hung that slider Hill probably strikes out. I also believe a high fastball would have struck Hill out as well.
  18. Cubs will break out tomorrow and pick another game on the pissbirds.
  19. Yeah it was, bad location, fortunately PCA came up big.
  20. Honestly, I was waiting for Brown to lose it, to his credit, he remained dialed in, the potential to get better is there. I know the starting pitching is a concern nevertheless, guys like Brown and Horton have the potential to get better coupled with 3 other solid guys does offer some hope.
  21. Excellent, love the last out was Fraley and he looked like the feeble hitter is in the midst of striking out!
  22. We're getting slumping, automatic out Swanson now, hopefully, not too long. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's for several games.
  23. I've been a Brown naysayer, then I see what he can do with his breaking stuff and think he can improve. He's not a Rea, who just flat out sucks, Brown has a higher ceiling.
