  1. Beyond Kazmir and Longoria' glove has anyone been all that impressed with Tampa Bay? Sonnanstine did not look like much yesterday, no exceptional movement or velocity, I'd go so far to say that if Lee or Aram had much of night the Cubs put up 8+ runs. I believe if Lee or Aram break out tonight the Cubs win easily.
  2. Agreed. I believe the Cubs will leave TB with 2 wins. I believe so as well, the Cubs took their best shot-love the approach to Kazmir made him work, I can only imagine how ugly it would have been had he been facing one of Dusty' Cub teams-and they barely scraped out a win.
  3. Dempster has done a great job but, he has those spells where he just can't find the plate.
  4. I'd do it, any and every thing that'll increase Cubs' chances of winning the WS, I want to see a Cubs' WS in my lifetime. The time for caution and thinking about consequences down the line is over.
  5. Wow, its unbelievable Kazmir was traded at all, let alone for the likes of Victor Zambrano, the Mets were going no where in June 2004 (besides losing 91 games) - why would one trade prospect such as Scott Kazmir in such a year?
  6. And lets not forget Ludwicks non catch the day before I believe all this will even out as the season goes and we'll be left the best team on top - the Cubs. Most if not all the statistics indicate the Cubs are the superior team take, for example, run differential Cubs +108, Cards +24, at the moment the Cards do have the better road record but, I believe the Cubs will soon eclipse them there as well.
  7. This gem from CBS Sportsline about Kazmir' upcoming start against the Cubs - Don't worry too much about Wednesday's loss against the Angels, one of baseball's best hitting teams. Kazmir should be back to his winning self in his next appearance against Ryan Dempster and the Cubs on Tuesday If a team hitting .256, with 290 runs, 59 HRs, .386 SLP and a .316 OBP is one of baseball best hitting teams what does that make the Cubs (.283, 380 runs, 75 HRs, .446 SLP, .361 OBP)?
  8. If it wasn't for a combined 7 BB's by Cubs pitchers today, the Jays wouldn't have sniffed a run.
  9. After all those blown calls in LA I'll take it.
  10. What was the difference between strike 2 to Lee and that curve ball Lilly threw that was called a ball?
  11. Theriot cannot consistently make the routine play.
  12. Why does nearly everything Litsch throws look extremely hittable and medicore yet, the Cubs are takinhg these pitches for strikes?
  13. The only way this Jays team is going to do any damage is if Lilly gives them the chance to do so by issuing BB's. If he throws strikes, they're not going to do much.
  14. Don't understand the Jays approach they're playing Fukudome to hit the ball to left yet, throwing him sliders????
  15. Only against the Cardinals - Adam Eaton 2-2, Rollins, Victorino, and Utley a combined 0-10
  16. It'll be 4.5 after tonight - there's no reason the Phillies shouldn't smack the Cardinals again.
  17. Not starting every hitter 2-0 may be a contributing factor.
  18. Wells missing the diving attempt may have been the first time all year an opponent didn't make such a catch - when attempting.
  19. Dl'ed or not his injury is going to linger the remainder of the season, from what I understand leg injuries require rest to fully heal. It'll be impossible for Pujols to get the proper rest during the season and when you factor in he's 40+ years old (it's a joke)...
  20. He blew his wad vs. the Cubs, that was a once in lifetime performance.
  21. The always scintillating walk off HBP - I'll take it!!!!!
  22. Not even for chance at a WS Championship in the unique position the Cubs are in? Barry Bonds swallows some personal pride, keeps Soriano' spot warm, along the way helps the Cubs to 100+ wins and hits several big WS HR's as the Cubs win. Should this happen do think anyone' going to remember or care that he may cheated?
