  1. I thought, regardless of the opponent, the Cubs toughest playoff series was going to be the first, no different today. If the Cubs get by the NLDS they'll smoke the Phillies or Brewers in the NLCS.
  2. As much as I dislike the Mets and am pleased that they didn't make the playoffs, I'd like to see some team stick it to the Marlins like they've done a few times.
  3. I don't believe we'll have to worry about that, an overworked Sabathia, no Sheets, Gall (I can't remember how his named is spelled) coming off an injury, Bush and Suppan and that bullpen against the Phillies? If I were a Brewer fan I'd take in the moment, be happy they made playoffs.
  4. Shouldn't a hit and run be nearly automatic with Soriiano on 1b and Theriot up? Lou doesn't do it enough.
  5. Each run the Cubs tack on turns the screws tighter on the Brewers.
  6. Cedeno, despite beating out the potential DP grounder, doesn't have a clue, does he?
  7. Why do people think Cameron is star player? I look at his stats and see an average to mediocre hitter, nothing more.
  8. I believe he'll look good through the early innings, if his work load is going to take a toll, it'll show up in the middle innings.
  9. When are the effects of throwing a bizzillion pitches going to show up for Sabathia? Will it be today?
  10. Gotta charge that Brewer run to Fonzi one of those two balls was catch-able.
  11. Good to see Hoffpauir in there perhaps, with another big night, he secure a playoff roster spot over Ward. In fact if DeRosa can't go in the NLDS I'd like see Hoffpauir in RF - use Fukedome as a defensive replacement. I don't give a squat about Hoff as long time prospect or what he's done beyond this year, all that matters he's hit all this year at every level and Fukedome and Ward haven't.
  12. I don't know if that'll be such a big problem because, he's all they've got, just look at what they trotted out against the Cubs 3 of the last 4 games.
  13. Good another late inning ball buster for the Muts.
  14. Fukudome, at this point, is nothing more than a defensive replacement.
  15. What is disturbing is that Martinez, a shell of his former self, has managed 7 K's yet, a supposedly healthy Harden doesn't have one.
  16. Anyone know of free broadcast link of tonight's game?
  17. Their use of the F Word reminds me of Goodfellas.
  18. I see the Twins at 20, some of us were debating whether or not they're all that good, I don't think they are...
  19. Is that a twinge of jealousy? I know its horrible. We do hit worse vs. RHP (which is expected) but its still over league average .274 .350 .444 .794 vs. RHP .291 .369 .446 .815 vs. LHP Plus, Ramirez has big reverse splits this year and has hit RHP really well, and 2 of our other positions are in straight platoons (CF, and 2B/RF). I don't know if anyone has realized this, but this is Aramis Ramirez's splits this year: .308 .398 .565 .962 vs. RHP .229 .327 .382 .708 vs. LHP Looking at potential NL playoff teams rotations Dodgers: 3 righties, 1 lefty Mets: 2 righties, 2 lefties Phillies: 2 righties, 2 lefties Brewers: 2 righties, 2 lefties Throw in a 64-46 record vs RHP which is, guess what, the best in the NL and damn near the best in Baseball - TB and ANA
  20. If this game does get in I believe the Cubs will win, this loss, coupled with the Marlins taking two of of three, will have the Mets finishing at 88-74. Brewers will win today, over the weekend, will they get one from the Cubs? If they do, I'd like to see it Sunday, Sabathia going on 3 days rest, Cubs work him for 125+ pitches.
  21. Pale Hose got screwed on that pick off at 2b, he was out and it wasn't close.
  22. Corey Hart on Sports Center talking about CC Sabathia going on two days rest. Why not have him go tomorrow?
  23. LOL Muts beyond the Cardinals couldn't happen to a better team.
  24. Good job Lee even though you missed two hanging sliders in that at bat.
